His little confession made it through her hysteria. Bella laughed a bit, "it's not that. I've never had one, so it could be terrible, and I wouldn't even know."
His hand ran up and down her back, his arms holding her tightly. "Then why are you crying?"
"My Mom died the day you guys found me; a man came and took her away to another room. She made me run and hide. I didn't want to, but she made me. When you came in, I ran to check on her, and she was dead. Why did they kill her? She went with them willingly, but he killed her."
Jimin frowned; the only person that didn't survive was her mother. This poor girl, "those men are sick, Bella, and I wish I could say they are the only ones, but there are so many more like them. We find more and more sick bastards like that every week."
"Where do the hybrids go when you take them?"
He squeezed her a little tighter, "to a rehabilitation/adoption center that we work with. Once they are ready, we adopt them to good homes."
"Like animals," she whispered.
Jimin sighed; she was not wrong. Society sees them as nothing more than pets, honestly below pets, since most people want them as sex slaves. "I'm sorry. I wish we could change things; lord knows we are trying. But not everyone is about change."
"Where did they take my mother? Since I've been in cat form most of the time, I was able to suppress my feelings. But with my heat, everything is rushing back."
"I honestly don't know, but I can ask Jin or Yoongi. They'd know what happened to her." She didn't say anything. She just nodded her head against his chest and squeezed him a bit tighter. "I'm sorry we didn't get there in time to save her."
"It's not your fault, Jimin; it was that nasty man's fault."
He kissed her head, "I know you want to cuddle, and I'm all about it, but I need to get some food in you."
"Can I hold your hand still? I don't know how to explain it, but I need," she couldn't even finish the sentence.
Jimin leaned down and palmed her face so she'd look up at him. "Of course you can. You don't have to ask. Anything I can do to make you feel better, I'll do it."
A lone tear fell down her cheek, and he brushed it away. "Thank you," she whispered as she closed her eyes. He lifted her and held out his hand for her. It would be not easy to cook, but he'd manage somehow.
He got the eggs prepped, "Bella, can you wrap your arms around my waist? It'll be easier to cook if I have both my hands." She let go and wrapped her arms around him; her head was between his shoulder blades. He could feel her hot breath every time she breathed out.
The two shuffled over to the stove, and he got to work. It wasn't anything fancy, just a cheese omelet, but Jimin was glad he could do this for her. When he finished cooking, he pulled her into his lap and fed them both. This poor girl is probably just now going through the stages of grief.
"I'm going to take us to the shower and get us cleaned up, then we can snuggle on the couch and watch a movie. Does that sound good?"
She nodded her head, but her eyes were slightly unfocused. Jimin picked her up and carried her to the bathroom; he made quick work of it. Usually, he'd be ecstatic to be in the shower with a hot girl, but she was borderline catatonic at this point. He dried and dressed them, carried her to the living room, and settled on the couch.
She still hadn't said a word, so Jimin did everything he could think of. He comforted her; it didn't take long for her breathing to turn steady. Thank goodness she's finally getting some rest. He grabbed his phone and sent the text off asking if anyone knew about the woman who died because it was Bella's mother.
It seemed like Jungkook was the only one who knew; Jimin was mad initially, but the younger man couldn't have known for long. It was only yesterday that they even found out she was a human. So he'll forgive him since they dealt with her heat for most of it. Jin told him she was buried in the city hybrid cemetery outside town. She was buried as a number since they didn't know her name.
He told them he wanted to get a headstone for her at least; Bella needed it, and they all agreed. They just needed to find out her information. Jimin was going to have to ask her when she woke up. But for now, he will hold her close and be thankful she's alive and here.
Jimin rolled them over so they could lie on their sides; he grabbed the blanket over the back of the couch and covered them up. Her smell, while driving him to slight madness, is comforting. Add in her even breathing, and soon, he followed her to sleep. He figured she'd wake up with another pulse, but that didn't happen. What woke him up was her tears; she was trying to stop them, and they were slightly muffled since she was pressed against his chest.
He petted her hair, "Shh, don't cry. I'm right here."
She sniffled, "I know, I just miss her."
"I think I found out where she's buried. But I need to get some information about her—her birthday, full name, etc. Anything you can tell me."
Jimin didn't hear her at first; she spoke so softly. She told him when her mother's birthday was, and her name was Cherish. They didn't have a last name since they were hybrids. She told him how she sang the soft kitty song to get Bella to sleep and how her favorite food was turkey, but they rarely got to eat it unless it was expired deli meat they found in the dumpsters.
