part nine - new friend

as i was about to call jules, i heard loud noise, like someone had dropped something on the ground behind me.

it was a girl, she had blonde hair tied in a ponytail, with a fringe- and she'd just dropped all of her books

"oh let me help you with that" i said as i approached her and helped her pick up all of her things

"thank you so much," she said, "wait you're peter parker's girlfriend aren't you?" not this again

"no, i'm just his friend haha, where did you hear that from?"

"just flash, he's been spreading rumours, but then again, why trust flash? am i right?" she laughed nervously. oh so that's why everyone though we were together, damn that flash

"yep, flash is a jerk"
"agreed"

"i'm olivia madden" i put out my hand intending for her to shake it

"i'm gwen, gwen stacy" she shook my hand
"nice to meet you gwen"
"nice to meet you too olivia"

"ive got to call my aunt to come and pick up now, but i'll see you around" i smiled at her
"okay, yeah i'll see you" she smiled back

when jules arrived she drove us both back home and i quickly got ready, just before we were leaving i could see peter in his room so i rang him and spoke to him for 2 minutes, it was like a facetime call but in real life, we often did that.

when we arrived at the restaurant and sat down, aunt jules went to the bathroom and i saw gwen with her family sat on another table and waved, she waved back and came over to say hi

"funny seeing you here" i said

"yes, what a coincidence" she chuckled

"oh by the way, here's my number, just because i'd like to think we're friends now" i said and gave her my phone number

"oh thank you! and yes, of course we are"
"well, have a nice dinner with your family" i told her

"thank you, have a nice dinner too"
i smiled and waved as she walked off.

when we got back peter was looking out of the window, holding his phone, waiting for something. as soon as he saw us i felt my phone ring and funnily enough, it was pete.

"you go on in aunt jules, i'll just be a minute, it's peter"

"oh alright sweetie, see you in a minute"

"hello?" i answered the phone

"hi" he sounded flustered

"what's wrong?"

"i need you to come round"

"okay, i'll be on my way"

i told aunt may i was going round for a minute and locked the car, then i knocked on the parker's door.

miles answered and said "here for peter?"
"uh yes please"

"PETER" he called out, then turned to me. "come on in olivia"
"thanks" i smiled, "hi may, ben, jonas" i said to the others sat in the living room
"hi olivia" they all replied

peter came running down the stairs
"come upstairs" he ordered

i followed him up
"peter what is it?"

"i found this in the basement when i was clearing some things from the flood"

it was a briefcase, and on the front were the letters R.P engraved.

what was so important about this briefcase?
