part twenty three - lizard

it was a lizard.
a giant lizard.

i felt myself start to shake. i was in complete shock.

"OLIVIA?! GET. OFF. THE. BRIDGE." peter demanded

i ran, looking behind me every two seconds, to check if peter was okay.

what was that thing? and why was it here?

surely it couldn't be possible..

i stopped running. i could see peter in the near distance, everyone else still running around me.

he was saving people, and making sure that cars were safe too. but at the same time fighting the strange creature

i suddenly heard a man yell "JACK! NO SOMEBODY HELP THATS MY SON"

then the lizard had gone. disappeared.

peter immediately went to go and save jack, climbing onto the car, attempting to pull him out.

i walked closer

"hey, hey, jack you're okay buddy" peter said

jack didn't seem to reply, and then pete took off his mask

"see? i'm just a normal guy," he handed jack his mask "want to hold on to this?"

"yes please" i could hear jack say

i was now standing close to the boys father, who looked terrified

"let's get you out of here" pete said as he approached jack, moving slowly "stay very still alright? i got you"

"ok"

"right now i'm going to need you to take off your belt okay?"

"alright"

"nice and slow, that's it 3..2..1..go" and the seatbelt clicked as jack took it off

"well done buddy!"

jacks dad gasped. the car had caught on fire.

"jack! climb, now!"

"i cant.."

"yes you can" peter began, "put it on, the mask. it'll make you strong. trust me" he said as jack put the mask on

"that's it now climb. come on jack!"

he started to climb

"do me a favour a little faster ok bud? you're doing great buddy, you're doing great. that's it, a little more.."

"AAH" jack screamed

the car was falling.

then, peter shot a web at jacks chest and caught him. he slowly brought him back up and returned him to his dad.

"jack!" his dad tightly hugged him "are you okay?" he said as jack nodded.

then he looked at spiderman, "who are you?"

"i'm spiderman" peter nodded

he had taken the mask from jack and put it back on his head during the time they were climbing.

then he saw me.

"olivia?! i thought i told you to get away from the bridge"

"i did. until the lizard had left. where did that thing come from?" i asked

"i have no idea.."
