Chapter 2: ANL

" I miss her... "

" ... "

I mumbled to myself as I looked out of my class window. It has been 8 years since i've last seen Chaewon. I snuggled into my arms and kept daydreaming. I stared at the string bracelet that she gave me back then.

" Y/N? "

" Mmm...? "

I felt a tiny hand on my shoulder. I turned my head to see Kim Minju, my classmate for this Astronomy class. Besides Chaewon, she is also one of my closest friends. She has helped me a lot ever since I came to to this university.

" Did you sleep late again? "

" You read me like an open book. "

" Of course I do! "

" Am I that predictable? "

Minju shrugs her shoulders. She started giggling and sat beside me. Our last class for the day was starting. I took out my laptop and paid attention in class. Who would've thought that I would take this course in university? It made me wonder if Chaewon is also busy somewhere. I would love to see her again.

" Could you help me with this? "

" Sure. "

I helped Minju by answering her doubts. I originally had the thought that I would be alone in university. I made little to no friends in my past years. Maybe Chaewon had a bigger impact in my life than I initially thought. Regardless, I appreciate Minju for being friends with me.

" Wanna go to the convenience store later? "

" Sounds great! "

We both decided to focus on the last class for the day. After an hour, our energy was drained from absorbing all the contents from today. We packed our stuff and went out of the classroom. Surprisingly, there weren't much students in the school at this timing. Usually, it would be crowded with people.

" I wanna get ramyun! "

" Same here. "

Minju was grinning from ear to ear as she walked happily. It elevated my mood as well. As we were walking towards the exit, I noticed something at the corner of my eye. It was the same string bracelet that I was wearing.

" Could it be..? "

" What's wrong, Y/N? "

" Nothing. "

There's no way Chaewon would be in the same university as me. I must be tired from not sleeping early. If that was truly Chaewon, fate does bring us together. It took longer than expected though. Minju looked at me with worry. I told her that it was fine and we continued walking to the convenience store.

" We're finally here! "

" You're that hungry, huh. "

" Mhm! "

She went inside the store with excitement. I followed her and got myself the same ramyun as her. We sat outside and ate the food we bought. We talked about the things that occured today and shared some laughter among ourselves.

" Let's go home. "

" Okay. "

We both live near each other. We're practically neighbours. Minju comes over most of the time to hang out since I live by myself currently. My parents still live by my old neighbourhood. That makes me wonder if Chaewon still lives there.

" Y/N, i'll just go home today, i'm super duper tired. "

" Call me if you need anything. "

We went to our respective ways and headed to our apartments. Upon entering my apartment, it made me feel more lonely. It has too much space for someone living alone. I even have a spare room. I took a warm shower before lying down on my bed. Since i'm at a higher storey, I am able to admire the blanket of stars every night. I decided to sleep earlier tonight for some reason.
