Chapter 5: By My Side

I did fall asleep. I think. I felt cold water running down my nape. I jolted like a cat and I was awake in no time. Chaewon was laughing with tears forming on her eyes. I put my hand on my nape to make it warmer.

" I'll go and shower now... "

" Haha, okay. "

Chaewon left the bathroom and sat beside Minju. I proceeded to shower so I could be fully awake this time. Although I dislike cold water, I needed it to wash away the tiredness from my body. As soon as I'm done showering, I let the both of them decide who should go in the bathroom first. Minju won of course. I teased Chaewon about it. She started pouting.

" It's okay Ssamu, I'll shower quickly. "

" Hmph, fine. "

" Haha. "

Minju then rushed into the bathroom without hesitation. I went into my room and took a book that I was dying to read. I took my reading glasses and went out to my balcony. Chaewon was napping on my couch. She looked comfortable though. I'm kinda jealous of that.

I sat down on my lounge chair with one of my favorite pillows. I put on my reading glasses and opened up my book.

Huh, I really spent my entire morning reading this book. Minju stepped out onto the balcony with a cup of coffee. She looked at me with a soft smile. She put the coffee on the balcony table beside me.

" Can I sit down beside you? "

" Sure. "

" You look way different with your glasses. "

" In a bad way? "

Minju shook her head in disagreement. She started complimenting me and took the glasses away. She wore it for herself and looked at me with a funny face. I couldn't help but chuckle at her goofy side. She started cracking up as well.

" Do I really look funny? "

" Haha, It was the face that made it extra funny. "

" That's mean... "

" I'm kidding, just kidding. "

I put a bookmark in my book and put it aside to drink my cup of coffee. Chaewon opened up the sliding door to the balcony with her cup of coffee as well. She chortled when she saw Minju with my glasses.

" Eh?? Is it that funny? "

" N-no... "

" Y/N, take it back! "

Minju said that jokingly. In the end, we just laughed it off. I put aside my reading glasses and continued talking to the both of them. Hm, I feel like I'm forgetting something. Chaewon suddenly stared at me and showed me her phone.

" Forgetting this, Y/N? "

" Ah! The picture of the night sky! "

" Eheh, just give me your number. "

" Here you go. "

Upon giving Chaewon my number, she sent me that picture for my collection. That was a smooth way to ask for my number though. Regardless, I decided to show the both of them my albums filled with blankets of night skies. They were both staring at it in awe.

" These pictures are beautiful. "

" Yeah it is! "

I thanked Chaewon for doing this even though she was tired the night before. She sent it as a kind gesture. Well, at least I got Chaewon's number now. It made me scream internally. I took back my phone to see pictures of my middle school and high school pictures. They must have went to a different album on my phone.
