Chapter 29: Anywhere But Home

I slumped against the cushions on my couch. I stared at the ceiling for a few minutes or so before facing my television. Chaewon was directly in my face which caused me to flinch. She giggled to herself before asking me a few questions.

" Why the long face, hun? "

" Ahh, I'm still wondering about what to do now... "

" Hmm, do you have work experience? "

" I used to work at a café back then. "

Chaewon was slightly impressed by my words. She sat beside me and rested her head on my shoulder. We got to spend some alone time together today. Not exactly alone since we have Ddalgi with us.

" Is this a home date? "

" Let's go on one today. "

" Ehh? "

Chaewon was caught off guard by my words and began to panic. I changed into my clothes for our impromptu date today. Chaewon dashed into her room to change as well. I called Hyejoo over again to take care of Ddalgi. She did not mind at all since she likes to cuddle with cats.

" I'm here, oppa! "

" Sorry for asking you to do this... "

" It's okay, just enjoy your date! "

Chaewon left her room in a hurry and wore her shoes as I waited for her outside the door. I ran my fingers through her hair and adjusted it slightly since it was quite messy. Since this is our second date, where should we go for today?

" Take it easy, Chaewonie. "

" Phew, I felt like I just participated in the olympics... "

" Haha, calm down! "

Chaewon looked up into my eyes and her eyes started sparkling all of a sudden. It was as if I was looking at a baby cheetah or something. I chuckled which caused her to look at me with confusion this time. How can my girlfriend be this cute?

" What should we do today? "

" Hmm, I never really thought about it. "

" Haha, seriously? "

" Hey, It was a last minute idea! "

Chaewon kept laughing at me as we walked out of our apartment complex. Maybe it's time for me to rent a car and drive around with her. I was thinking of doing this cooking class I found online recently. It's at a local market near us as well.

" Let's go get our car for today. "

" Our car? "

" Mhm, I rented it just for the two of us. "

" Woah, did our budget just increase? "

I chuckled at her response and we slowly made our way to the car rental that was slightly further from our place. I eventually got the keys and let Chaewon sit in the passenger seat before I enter the car itself. She was taken aback by my sudden kindness and it made her giggle softly.

" So you DO have a plan for our date? "

" Of course, I am Choi Y/N! "

" Hehe, what's wrong with you today! "

I drove off from the car rental and headed towards the local market where the cooking class was located. Even though the both of us knew how to cook, it would still be fun for us to cook together and spend time together. I hope she thinks the same though.
