Part Forty-Six: The Change

Jamie's POV:

- June 2020 -

It has been months since this pandemic.

814 has converted into a hand sanitizer manufacturer, Lucy's companies had to halt production and we are all stuck at home. 

Lucy and I have been switching back and forth between our houses. We had converted bedrooms in both the houses into offices for Lucy and me to work and have a "new" environment. Since both of us work from home now. 

Even though Lucy and I don't technically live together we might as well be. We are the own two people that we see since we are keeping contact with people to, I would say a minimum but really we don't see anyone. 

I have been trying to find the right time to propose to Lucy but it is hard since we aren't able to go anywhere. I had talked to her parents, brother, cousins, aunts, uncle and close friends and they all game their blessings MONTHS ago. When we went to the mall back in March I picked up her ring and I have been hiding it ever since. 

Lucy and I confirmed our relationship so she has just been vlogging a lot which has kept us active and doing stuff. We have also been watching a lot of shows together. 

Lucy was filming some makeup video for her Youtube channel so I took this as a time to plan the proposal. I was at my house and she was at hers. I called Kelsey to ask her what she thought of my plan. 

J: Hey Kels

Kelsey: Hey Jamie what's up? Meg's here too. 

Meg: Hey Jamie!

J: Ok perfect! So you know how I want to propose right?

K: Yeah I am surprised you still haven't done that yet

J: I WOULD HAVE IF THIS STUPID PANDEMIC WASN'T SO LONG

Meg: We know she's just messing with you.

J: Ok so I have a plan and idk if it is good or not

K: I can assure you that if you just ask her to marry you. She will not care about how you ask her. 

J: OK but here is my plan. 

Meg: OMG yay tell us! 

J: So you know how for my birthday when we first met she rented out this lake house? Well I was going to rent out that lake house for the week and then recreate our first date there and propose. 

 K: Ok I know I said she won't care but that is really cute Jamie. 

J: Ok good. I called Taylor and she said she could book it for me but since you guys are super close I thought I'd ask you guys too. 

Meg: Ok yeah that's super cute!! She's going to love it. 

J: Ok cool cool. I am going to go plan it some more. This is going to happen tomorrow. 

Meg: shit man this mans is finally going to do it!

K: OMG yay! Good luck and have fun! She is going to say yes!

J: Hopefully. Thanks girls I'll talk to you guys later. 

Meg and K: Byeee

I hang up the phone and call my old neighbours and ask if they could get some flowers like our first date for tomorrow and they said yes! Taylor texts me to confirm she booked the lake house for the next week. 

She was still filming so I plack my bag and put it in the trunk. I then drive her over to her place and quietly plack her bag and put it in the car.

I drive back to my place. I walk into the backyard and take out my phone and set up the camera.
