Chapter 36-BlitzKrieg

The humming of the ship's engines was all I could feel as I stared at the blue screen. 

"The aircraft's objective is to attack and neutralize any AA emplacements that could likely be there, once done, we deploy onto specific locations and eliminate the family's operations here." The captain told us as he iterated the attack plan. 

"You know they'll try to shoot us when we'll rappel from the ship, sir." A lower-ranking soldier said. 

"And that is why we're Knights, we drive onto the deepest pit of hell for all of Caldaris." The Captain states. 

"And some of us are Vampires, so we ought to be fine!" He boasted as I couldn't help but agree with his statement. 

"Rescue the civies, kill the slavers and be back at home, just in time for supper." The captain said as some agreements were heard, particularly from the pilots as I looked at my golden sword and extra weapons as I can see everyone else preparing their own weapons.

"ETA: 2 Mikes!" One of the pilots said. 

"Equipment check!" Erwin shouts as we all followed. 

And soon, a cacophony of checks and clears was heard as I was almost done patting down and checking the equipment of the man in front of me. 

"Clear!" I shouted as I patted the man on the shoulder as from the peripheral of my eye, I could see a crewman moving to a door and unveiling a 30. cal machine gun and got it set up. 

I looked up to see that the pilots seem to be communicating to the others as I felt someone pat my shoulder as I quickly turned around. 

It was Erwin, and in his hands, a pistol magazine, loaded with FMJ rounds and tipped with a blue painted ring. 

"A gift from our Astrologist." He says as I remember who, took the magazine and thanked my teacher as I swapped clips in my pistol. 

"30 SECONDS!" One of the pilots shouted as audible sounds of Flak are here as the ship shook. 

"Attention all passengers, this is your captain speaking, we're currently experiencing some turbulence, so please strap in and prepare to kill some savages." The Pilot spoke as I immediately looked out one of the windows of the ship as I saw heavy blots of smoke as I saw a missile rush towards a Flak cannon as it was engulfed in flame as the sounds of gunfire swept throughout the ship as the door gunner was doing all he could at the moment.

"AA EMPLACEMENTS DOWN, DROP THE TROOPS!" I heard one of the pilots say to themselves rather loudly. 

"KNIGHTS, SECURE THE DROP SITE!" Erwin commanded as a rope was deployed as any vampires decided to go in, the old-fashioned way; jump with style. 

"Let's go!" I commanded my juniors as we all leaped from dropship and onto the enemy fire. 

Acting quickly, anyone who had a smattering of sorcery cast fall protection upon all of us as each of us as I summoned in an array of swords as we all landed and retaliated against the slaver via a hail of lead and will. 

I withdrew my sidearm and open fire against them, all the while, creating long blocks of Aura-made concrete for my comrades as they hid behind them. 

"Papa Bravo, it's too here, over!" One of the Knights relayed to the ship as some were providing support from up top as another VTOL was swooping in to deliver their troop transport as they move out of the transport as it was about to lift off and the soldiers fan out throughout the courtyard.
