Chapter 16- The Next Step

Helix In! I'm back and so in this chapter, this'll be taking place when things are gonna be different, so let's get on with it!

(3rd POV)

It has been three weeks since Jaune's entrance into the city of Vacuo and as it was, The Caldarisians were able to gain good knowledge of Remnant and her stalwart kingdoms. 

We then cut to the base as they have made additional defenses and a bit of a research area as to better study the Dust crystals they have acquired. 

Then we cut to Jaune, who's inside of a room equal to Soldiers and Knights here, equality mean you get the same thing as he sat on the bed he sleeps in, looking at his phone, watching some fights scenes from his phone, enjoying the video he was watching, he was in his free time after all. 

'This is actually pretty nice.' Jaune thought as he continued watching the video before pausing the video and looking at a drawing he made of his Team as he left out a sigh as he stroked his chin which has now began to develop a small beard. 

"Maybe when I'm a hundred years old, I'll finally have a beard!" Jaune said to himself as he let out a groan as he lied down on his bed. 

'I miss my team, my friends, Pyrhha, Ruby...................' He thought as he looked up to the ceiling of the room, watching as the ceiling fan kept spinning.

Jaune then slowly rose from his bed as he grabbed his wand as he practiced a bit of magic as he practiced drawing his sword with arcane means as to pass the time. 

And as he did so, he got a text from his phone as he finished up on the crude-looking sword as he set down his wand as he looked at his phone as he saw a text for him. 

It was from Sabrina as he pressed the text as he saw her text. 

"Hey John. I've done my training and Lord Von Hartmann has approved of me going with you, Erwin wouldn't mind having another Knight with him after all. I'll be going with the 2nd Wave next week, see you then!" Sabrina said in her text as Jaune smiled, his eyes momentarily reverting back to their original blue color.

"That's good to hear, Sabrina. I hope to see you soon!" Jaune texted as he sent his text to her as he multi-tasked with both his illustration and seeing if there's gonna be more text. 

"You too!" Sabrina replied as she left a heart emoji as Jaune smiled at this, thus earning himself some confidence as he further detailed the drawing.

We then cut from his room and focus on the Command room as General Schwert looked over the information that Erwin and Williams' team retrieved as looked over them and to the holomap as he observed the city of Vacuo through a single satellite they were able to get into orbit as per orders from High Command as Schwert continued doing his job as he clenched his chin.

"I've been given orders by High Command to perform diplomatic parley with these Humans, and yet, I'm uncertain that they'll take kindly to us." Schwert said to himself as he continued looking at the map.

Ready and steadfast in his decision, he readied himself for whatever for what's to come as he then approached a speaker, connected to the entire base. 

"May Knight-Captain Von Hartmann of the Blades of the Moon Order and Lieutenant Williams of the 22nd regiment come to the Command Room. Repeat, Knight-Captain Von Hartmann and Lieutenant Williams." Schwert said as he ended his announcement as he realigned his tie and began reading over the notes he's made and then began reading about what's going in Prussia.

He read that country was under slight scrutiny by the other nations, particularly those without any Gateways online as they requested the nations with active Gateways to allow foreign liaisons into theirs borders to further study the Gateways and particularly the worlds that are beyond a certain gate, Prussia and it's emperor has denied any initial foreign intervention until it is deemed safe, the other countries that have spared their Gateways have also suffered such scrutiny.
