Helix In! I'm Back, for this chapter, something'll happen, and now, let's get on with it!
(Jaune's POV)
(In the wee hours of the coming day)
And as the sky were still night blue and as I was watching from the window of the car, I looked out into the star-filled night sky as the moon was still up.
"Command, we got our info, we're making our way back to base, over." Erwin said through the radio of this vehicle.
"Acknowledged, be sure no one is following you, over." Someone from the radio said, likely General Schwert.
"Copy All, out!" Erwin replied as he placed the radio back.
"Knight-Captain, what are the odds of some of the locals considering on an attack on us? We're out here, in the middle of a desert at night." Williams said as he continued driving us back to the base as Erwin was looking the window like he's eyeing something.
"I'm uncertain, Lieutenant, but I have a hunch that it'll be 60-40 chance at best." Erwin said as he looked out the window and a revolver on his person.
Then as I was about to get some shut-eye, I noticed something behind us, a light of sorts, I turned to see a car, lightly armored follow us.
"Guys, there's a car coming from behind us, I don't think they're friendly." I said to them as both Williams and Erwin checked the side windows and know it's there, the other guys here did the same as they saw the car.
"Well, looks like we'll have to kill them, we can't let them follow us." Erwin said, unafraid to get bloody if needed.
I was in thought as I considered the plans available, while killing these guys is a viable, I'm not liking it, it's still a good option.
"How about we use a mirror." I said as the others except Williams looked at me.
"Tie a hand mirror to a pole and let's see if they shoot it, if they did, we'll kill them, if not, let them pass." I said to them as Erwin looked into the glove compartment and found a hand mirror and one of the soldiers pulled out their rifle and handed it to me as I untied the knot, keeping the hood's form together as it went slack as I grabbed the hand mirror and tied the mirror on the end of the rifle as I raised it out of the turret, angling the rifle to allow me to see the car.
The front of the car had a bunch of spikes attached to the hood, concerning me as their car looks like it can wound a Grimm, it was still lightly armored to allow mobility.
Then as I was about to get a better look on the driver and their charge, someone peeked out of the window and took some potshots at us, I managed to pull the mirror down, but it still took a round, shattering it as I looked at them with a bit of a pissed off look as I felt my eyes go orange a bit.
'Jaune, calm yourself, Your on Remnant! Not Caldaris!' I thought to myself as I berated myself a bit before readying myself as I readied my Aura as I went up to the turret as I manned the Machinegun.
"Arc!" Erwin called out to me as I ignored
"COVER THE WATCHMASTER!" The Initiate said to the other Knights, rallying them and the Soldiers as they readied themselves for a car fight.
I removed the safety, taking when they're about to shoot me as I loaded the gun and cocked it back, while Williams continued driving.
I then opened fire as I aimed for the tires as I fired a quick burst of blackpowder bullets and a few managed to get through a front tire as air became flattened.
