RWBY: Jaune Arc, The Guardian

Chapter 5- Exploring

Helix In! I'm back with another chapter for our Knightboi, now like what I said back in Chapter 4, This Chapter will be back towards Jaune on Caldaris. And now, let's get onto it!

(Two days after Chapter 3) 

(Jaune's POV) 

As I locked eyes with a beast with grey fur bearing a torch, sharp claws, and a sidewards face which often confused me on it's appearance. 

While it's a hologram, I knew the hard way, they don't dissipate after the first attack, according to Erwin. And I'm in a room designed for holographic fights and to an extent can serve as a room for dueling.

"Now, what your facing is known as a Greybeast, or a hologram of one, this beast is a fierce one, tough skin, a crooked face, can stand upright or on all fours, expelling a charge of Lighting, oil-like puke, etc. Exercise caution when going up against this beast." Erwin warned me as today was special since he's letting me fight holographic versions of these beasts, and they are quite different from the Grimm, like very different. 

"Wait what!?" I asked, now worried. 

"Don't worry, Jonathan, you'll be fine, just be careful of it's swipes, torch attacks and it's electrical charge and you'll be fine." Erwin reassured me as I nodded.

"My name is Jaune! Not Jonathan!" I said, complaining about my new nickname, although it's better than Vomit Boy. 

"But I like Jonathan, it's nice!" Erwin shot back.  

I looked to the weapons I have, I had a silver straight sword, and an interestingly design pistol, according to Erwin, he said this has enough firepower to stagger something, provided I used it while my target was still swinging, an interesting but effective attack Erwin taught me, so there's that.

"Okay, Jonathan, I'm activating the Beast now! Be ready!" Erwin said to me as I nodded as I went into a combat stance. 

'Second exercise of the day, and you get me to fight a Grimm that isn't a Grimm.' I thought with concern for myself as this beast may not fight like how Grimm would. 

Then it activated as the beast's holographic body just roamed around for a bit, searching for my blood, then sitting down as it didn't notice me. 

"Now, get behind it and go for a backstab." Erwin encouraged me as he whispered through the intercom. 

"But how am I supposed to do it, what if it looks back at me?" I complained, unsure if this is safe for me, but I'll need to harden my stones if I'll ever become a proper Knight!

"It's easy. Just creep up towards the beast and plunge your blade through and quickly yank it out! Once you killed this beast, We can call it a day." Erwin said to me as I nodded, focused on the objective right now. 

I slowly walked towards the sitting beast, clutching it's torch. Once I got up to it, I readied my blade, aligned it towards it's back as I plunged it into the hologram's back. 

It let out a screech as I pulled my sword out of it's spine, it flopped over, seemingly dead. 

As a precaution, I stabbed it in the back once more as the beast let out a pained screech as it's holographic form dissipated.

"That was easy......" I said to myself as I recovered my breath. 

"Oh! Jaune, I'm gonna be honest, I'm spawning another, kill this one normally and your finished for today." Erwin said as he warned me, I then gave a glare with my glowing eyes that said 'Bruh'
