Derek was holding Meredith in his arms during the car ride, both their clothes were covered in blood as Meredith kept gagging up blood. Christopher had called Addison and Mark to alert they were on their way

"Stay with me, Mer" Derek whispered "Stay with me please"

"H-Hurts" She whispered as her eyes started closing

"We're here" Amelia parked in front of the ER. Derek carried Meredith out of the car and helped her on the gurney. Bailey wheeled Meredith inside with the help of Richard and Addison

"How long has she been spitting up blood? Bailey asked as she used the ultrasound to check Meredith's stomach as Richard administered the extra blood

"It got better but about 40 minutes?" Derek looked at his dad who nodded in response

"A stomach bleeding but it solved itself but she lost too much blood, she'll need a blood transfusion" Bailey told them "But I wanna make new scans, I'm not sure but I'll bring her for scans, afterwards we'll bring her to a room and she'll be much more comfortable"

"Can- Can I stay with her?" Derek asked

"I'll stay with her, you should get changed. You're soaked in blood" Addison slowly rubbed his back but he was hesitating

"Come on, son. Let's get you some new clothes" Christopher tried to convince Derek

Addison held onto Meredith's hand as they wheeled her to CT

"Are you comfortable?" Addie asked after some nurses had transferred her

"No, but let's get over with it" She groaned

"I know it's hard but try to lay as still as possible" Addison whispered softly as she brushed her hand over Meredith's hand "I'm on the other room if you need me"

Addison left the room and let the scanner do it's work. They eventually brought Meredith to a room where Christopher and Derek were waiting

"Hi" Meredirh whispered softly as she felt slightly better because if the blood transfusion and pain meds

"Hi, how are you?" Derek softly asked

"Better" She breathed softly

"Meredith, Derek.." Bailey knocked on the door

"What's wrong?" Meredith asked concerned. She felt Derek's arms tighten the grip on her

"Meredith, we're sorry. The cancer has spread even more. At this point we can give you a feeding tube and pain relief.." Bailey struggled to say

"No?" Derek gasped as he looked at his wife, tears streaming down his face

"However.." Bailey interrupted "We can try harder. At this point. Meredith, you're officially terminal but we can take out your ovaries, uterus and we can see if we can take away the tumor in your bowels but the biggest issue is your stomach. That's why we're suggesting IL-2"

Meredith was speechless but of course she wanted to fight. She wanted to fight for Derek, for Emma and Ava, for her family and for all her friends

"Okay" She bluntly said

"Oh Mer" Derek sighed as he buried his head on her chest

"We'd like to take you into surgery as soon as possible so in the morning we'll take you to the OR" Bailey explained

"Who'll operate?" Derek asked softly

"Me and Richard will take care of her stomach and bowels. We'll also place a long-term feeding tube while Addison and Jo will take care of your ovaries and uterus" Bailey explained

"Thank you.." Meredith whispered. Bailey nodded and softly left the room

"You got this, Meredith" Derek whispered as he held her into his arms as she started crying

"It will all be okay. The best doctors are working on your case, IL-2 will give you a chance" Christopher rubbed her back

"W-What about the girls?" She looked at Derek

"As long as you're admitted we'll come see you as much as possible" Derek promised

"We'll help out, Mer" Christopher reminded her

"Would you and mom mind bringing them over in the morning, please?" Her voice close to breaking

"Of course not. We'll bring them over before your surgery" He promised

"Thanks" She whispered and buried her face in Derek's chest

"Thanks dad" Derek nodded

"No problem. I'll go check on them now" Christopher said goodbye to both of them and left the room

"This sucks" Meredith whispers

"It sucks.." Derek sighed and watched her closing her eyes

Meredith was half awake in Derek's arms the next morning. Her mind was racing with thoughts that were scaring her like crazy

"It will be okay" Derek kept whispering even if he was scared as well

"I wanna be home. I want this to be over" Meredith cried "And it hurts so bad" She whispered

"You need to keep fighting for me, for our girls.." Derek looked into her eyes, neither of them could keep it dry

"I'm trying" Meredith's voice cracked

"I know" Derek whispered "The girls will be here soon" Derek told her

Meredith nodded and wiped her tears away. Her hair was drastically starting to fall out, leaving bald spots. They would have shaved it when she was home but now she had no idea when that would be..

The two of them were waiting in silence until soft knocks were heard

"Mommy!" Emma and Ava smiled

"Hi girls" Meredith tried not to break down as she saw them

"Nana said we had to tell you how much we love you" Emma smiled which caused the adults to chuckle

"I love you too, babies" Meredith kissed their foreheads as Derek carefully lifted them onto the bed and watched them as they laid down next to their mom

Meredith's fingers softly brushed through their hair

...

"Okay Meredith, we're ready to take you to the OR" Addison slowly stepped inside the room, Bailey following

"Aunt Addie!" The girls giggled

"Hey munchkins" Addison smiled and gave them a hug

"You ready?" Bailey started to unhook Meredith from the medical equipment

"Ready as can be" Meredith sighed and looked at Carolyn, her expression gave her anxiety away

"Wait" Carolyn said and quickly pulled Meredith in for a hug "We'll be here when it's over" She kissed her forehead

"Thanks" She whispered before turning herself to Ava and Emma "Be good for daddy, Nana and Poppa, okay?" Meredith told them sternly

"Yes mommy" The girls nodded

"Come here" Meredith opened her arms and hugged them dearly. Both girls gave her a couple of soft kisses on her cheek

"You'll do great" Derek kissed her passionately before they wheeled Meredith out of the room
