"Meredith sweetie, I have to weigh you" Bailey said as she walked into Meredith's room

"Can't stand up" Meredith groaned as she kept her eyes closed

"Where's Derek?" Bailey asked as she checked Meredith's vitals

"Playground. With the girls" She weakly explained

"I'll page Sloan, he can help" Bailey nodded and paged Mark. As they were waiting Meredith wanted to know if Bailey had any progress with the DNA tests of the girls

"Any news?" Meredith asked

"We're still waiting for Emma's results but Ava's don't show anything concerning. It will be okay" Bailey rubbed Meredith's arm

"You paged?" Mark walked in "Is my sister missing me?" He smirked

"Need to visit me more often" Meredith chuckled, still not opening her eyes

"How are you feeling?" Mark asked her as he sat down next to her

"Shitty" She sighed

"I'm sorry Mer, can I lift you?" He asked

"I guess" She sighed as he scooped her up. She rested her head on his chest as she desperately tried to use his body to keep herself warm

"You can go back to bed in a bit, honey" Miranda softly rubbed her back as Mark placed her on the scale

"Don't-" Meredith said as Mark tried to let go

"Just a minute. And we won't let you fall" Bailey assured her

"Tired" She mumbled as she swayed a bit and the second Bailey was able to see her weight Mark had scooped her up to quickly place her back in the bed, covering her with her warm blankets from before. He kissed her forehead softly and whispered she should nap

"Wake me- Girls -nd Der" She mumbled barely loud enough for him to hear

"Of course" He kissed her forehead but she already drifted off

"Sloan-" Bailey looked at him

"How bad?" He asked as he clutched Meredith's hand in his

"She's very badly underweight, Mark.. We need to get her weight up" Bailey frowned

"Double the moment's she's hooked up to the feeding tube" He sternly said and Bailey nodded

"She might experience more stomach pain" Bailey sighed

"She'll be okay" Mark said sternly and watched Meredith as she slept

...

Meredith was hooked up to to receive her feeding while Derek was giving her a sponge bath

"When's Ava's performance?" Meredith asked Derek

"Next week. She can't shut up about it. She's been dancing everywhere" He chuckled

"Can we go? Please" She looked into Derek's eyes

"Of course. Her dance teacher made sure her performance was in the beginning so we could leave if it got too much. Addie, Mark and mom and dad are coming as well" Derek smiled as he explained

"Good.." Meredith nodded "Der, I wanna go home. I was thinking we could go to the zoo"

"We should be able to arrange that" He nodded "You only have chemo once a week for now so on day 5 or 6 we should be able to go for a small outing '' He smiled. He loved how much more energy she got now she had beaten the odds and there was a possibility she would actually get better

"Very good" Meredith breathed "And I wanna see mom and dad" She smiled

"They're on their way. They texted me a few minutes ago" Derek replied when he heard someone knocking on the door "Perfect timing" He smiled as his parents walked inside

"Hi" They both smiled and went to say hello to both Meredith and Derek

"You're looking so much better already" Chrsitopher kissed Meredith's forehead

"Thanks dad" Meredith chuckled softly as Derek climbed in the bed next to her. He held her as Meredith and Christopher talked for a bit until Meredith clearly was getting too exhausted

"Why don't you nap a bit longer" Carolyn suggested, stood up and covered them with a bunch of blankets to keep them both warm

"We would be so lost without you" Meredith muttered and forced a small smile

"You would deal with it just fine. Now sleep honey. You are totally exhausted" Carolyn kissed Meredith and Derek's foreheads

"I'm so glad she's doing better" Christopher grabbed Carolyn's hand as they were watching them sleep

"It's the best news we could get" Carolyn kissed Christopher's lips

"Do you remember how they used to play in the treehouse we had in the garden?" Christopher asked his wife who nodded in agreement "She was finally doing well after her brain tumor and the way Amelia, Derek and Mark helped her- I just knew she was meant to be in our family and I will never, ever regret a second of that"

"I know. I'm so grateful" Carolyn breathed and rested her head on her husband's shoulder

"They deserve the world" Christopher smiled softly as he watched how Derek unconsciously wrapped his arm around Meredith's waist
