Meredith had an awful night, she missed Derek, she felt responsible for the kids that had thrown a whole fit about going to bed. Of course Mark and Addison had no issues with that, they loved the girls

"Mer?" Bailey pulled her out of her thoughts

"What?" Meredith snapped out of it

"The chemo started. I'll be back in a bit to check on you" She rubbed Meredith's hand softly

"Hey, it's okay" Addison laid down next to Meredith

"I miss Der" She muttered

"I know you do" Addison kissed Meredith's head "Sleep. You'll need it. Mom and dad are taking to girls to the zoo"

"I hope they aren't giving them a hard time" Meredith sighed

"Mer, they were just a bit fuzzy last night, nothing big, okay? No need to worry" Addison sternly said

"Thanks. I know this is very inconvenient" Meredith sighed and closed her eyes

"We're here for you, Derek and the girls. No need to worry" Addison held Meredith and felt her shiver

"Here, let me bury you with blankets" Mark softly said

"Thanks Markie" Meredith whispered as her eyes closed

...

"Addie, hand me that towel" Mark asked as he helped Meredith who was vomiting into the bucket

"Here" Addison quickly handed the towel to Mark and held Meredith so she wouldn't fall over

"Don't feel good" Meredith weakly forced out

"We know, we know" Addison softly rubbed her friend's back

"Okay Meredith, you think you're good?" Mark asked

"M-mayb- She wanted to reply before she started gagging again before she started throwing up once more

"Shh, it's okay" Mark kissed her forehead

"Markie-" Meredith whimpered

"Bailey's getting you some more meds" He softly lulled and saw Bailey running inside to administer the meds into Meredith's port

"Aww, make it stop" Meredith begged as she clutched her stomach

Addison couldn't take it any longer. She couldn't stop crying as she held her best friend in her arms, scared that she would blink and that she would be gone forever

"I hate chemo" Meredith muttered weakly

"It will be better soon" Mark said

"Don't wanna do this" She sobbed

"You need to keep fighting, for Derek, for the girls, for all of us" Addison tried so hard to keep strong

"I'm trying" Meredith cried out

Addison helped Meredith to lay down again as Mark put the bucket away

"We know you're trying. We know" Addison nodded and watched as Meredith slowly fell asleep

"Don't tell Derek. He'd be worried" She weakly whispered before sleep overtook her

Mark pulled Addison, who was still holding onto Meredith's hand, in his arms

"She's so weak!" Addison cried out

"I don't know how Derek does this time after time" Mark sighed "And how mom and dad did it all those years ago"

"I hate that she has to go through this" Addison finally calmed down

"I know. It hurts to see your little sister so hurt" Mark sighed and heard his phone ringing "Damn, it's Derek"

"Go, I'll stay here with her" Addison nodded

"Derek, hi" Mark breathed as he stepped out if the room

"How is she?" Derek immediately asked

"She's sleeping" Mark replied, hating to lie to his brother

"Mark, how is she?" He asked once more

"She just threw up, she's asleep now" Mark sighed. He knew Meredith would kill him if he'd tell how bad she was doing

"Make sure to keep her warm and once you're home, put her fuzzy socks in the dryer for a bit before she puts them on" Derek said

"I'll keep that in mind, Derek" Mark replied but got distracted when he heard Meredith cry out "Derek, I have to go now"

"Tell Mer that I love her. I'll call back later today"

"I know you will" Mark chuckled and hung up before quickly walking back into Meredith's room where he saw her vomiting

"Can you help me hold her up?" Addison asked Mark

Mark nodded and ran over, holding Meredith in his arms to keep her up while Addison was holding the bucket

"I wanna go home" Meredith cried

"In a few hours" Mark let her head rest on his chest as she stopped throwing up

...

"I think we should call mom and dad.." Addison said worriedly. She was sitting in the back of the car with Meredith

"Might be best, yeah" Mark sighed as he looked in the mirror

"I'll call her once we're inside. Can you carry her? She's asleep and I don't wanna wake her"

Mark nodded and got out of the car. He went to Meredith's side and carried her out of the car, into the house "Bed or couch?"

"She needs a bed" Addison immediately said and walked behind Mark

"Let's make sure she stays warm" Mark grabbed the fluffy socks as Derek had asked him and went to put them in the dryer

"I'll call mom" Addison's voice cracked

Mark waited a bit until he knew the socks would be warm before taking them out and walking back to Meredith's room. She was asleep, no snoring, no moving. Only a pained expression on her face

Mark gently removed her uggs and put on the warm socks before covering her with a few extra blankets. He adjusted the beanie Carolyn had knitted so her ears would stay warm

"Mom and dad are on their way but I'm worried about the girls" Addison sighed

"Hmm.." Mark sighed

"I'll go change the sheets in the guest room" Addison offered "We can sleep with her. Reminds me of the time in college"

"I wished we could go back to that" Mark sighed "I'm staying here with her" Mark nodded

"I'll grab her meds before I return" Addison said before leaving the room

"Oh Mer.." Mark started stroking her cheek with his finger

His heart was bleeding for his 'sister'

"You can't do this, Mer. You can't die.. Please" Mark whispered

"N-Not gonna die" Meredith weakly whispered

"I won't let you" Mark chuckled

"Hmm.. my girls?" She asked Mark

"Mom and dad are on their way. You're in bad shape, Mer"

"I know.. Never been this bad" She whispered

"It will all be okay. You could have asked for Derek in any other way" Mark chuckled "No need to beg him to come back this way"

"Miss Derek" She sighed

"I know you do" Mark pulled her in for a strong hug "Sleep. Your girls will be here soon"

"Don't let them in when I'm sick. It scares them" Meredith forced out as her eyes started drooping

"I won't" Mark quietly promised and helped her lay down comfortably and he kissed her forehead softly
