Come on Emma, hurry up please" Derek sighed as he tried to dress his youngest daughter

"I don't wanna!" Emma started protesting

"Emma, come on. We really need to go to the hospital" Derek tried to explain

"Don't wanna go to the hospible!" Emma let herself fall on her butt and crossed her arms

"I'm gonna check on mommy" Derek walked away. He couldn't deal with it and he was about to snap

He walked into the living room and smiled softly as he saw Meredith asleep on the couch, Ava next to her as she was watching tv

"Hey monkey. Can you put on your shoes and jacket for me?" Derek smiled at his daughter "Mer, wake up" Derek rubbed her upper arms "Mer?" He tried again as he started to worry but sighed in relief as she opened her beautiful green eyes

""Yeah?" She weakly asked, her eyes only half opened

"We have to leave in a bit. Can I help you in your shoes and jacket?" Derek helped her up

"So cold" Meredith started shivering the second Derek took off the blanket

"Here, put on this jacket" Derek handed Meredith his oversized winter jacket and helped her to get it on

Once Meredith was warm enough to go outside, he helped her into the car, Ava following them. He buckled up his oldest daughter

"Be right back, I'm gonna lock the doors and grab Em" Derek said and ran back inside "Come on Em. We really need to go" He lifted her up and grabbed her coat and shoes in his hand

Derek buckled in his youngest daughter and threw her shoes and jacket in the back of the car and started the long drive to the hospital

...

"Mer, we're at the hospital" Derek kissed her forehead softly

"Kay" She sighed and tried to push herself up but forgot her stitches were still itchy

"Let me help you" Derek helped her out "Shit" He muttered as he looked inside the car and remembered Emma still needed to put on her shoes and jacket

He quickly unbuckled Eva and watched as the girl went to hold her mother's hand

"I don't want to!" Emma screamed

"Hey honey, what's wrong?" Meredith leaned against the car

"Don't wanna go to daycare!" She yelled

"Come on, put your clothes on and we'll find a solution" Meredith sighed weakly, not having enough energy to go through a fit of her daughter "Der, maybe you should stay with them" She whispered and he nodded

"But I'll ask Addie to help you" Derek nodded firmly

"She will anyway" Meredith giggled softly and smiled as Emma was finally finished "Grab my hand" Meredith weakly said to Emma

"Mommy, carry me!" Emma begged

"Mommy can't carry you right now, honey. I'll carry you" Derek lifted Emma in his arm and wrapped his other around Meredith to keep her steady

"C-Can we-" Meredith started breathing heavily "Stop for a minute?" She asked

"Here" Derek led her to a bench "Mer, what's happening?" Derek asked

"Just- out of breath" Meredith was catching her breath

Ava went to sit down next to Meredith and grabbed her mother's hand as Derek rubbed her leg softly when they were disturbed by the sound of soft sobs

"Em, come here" Meredith opened her arm

The little girl ran into her mother's embrace

"What's wrong?" Meredith asked softly

"Why can't you carry me?" Emma's lower lip trembling

"Oh sweetie, I'm so sorry" Meredith kissed Emma's forehead

"I have an idea. Girls, watch mommy" Derek laughed

"Silly daddy" Ava giggled

"Silly daddy" Meredith confirmed with a giggle

A short while later Derek returned with a wheelchair

"I can walk!" Meredith scoffed

"I know but then the girls can sit on your lap" He smiled softly "And you don't have to worry about any shortness of breath"

"Okay" Meredith gave in

...

"Okay Meredith, we're almost done for today" Tom said through the speaker

"Any results on my scans yet?" Meredith asked scared

"Not yet, sorry Grey" Tom sighed

The silence kept holding on until it was time to take Meredith back out of the machine

"Okay, slowly" Addison said as she helped Meredith back on her feet into the wheelchair "Are you cold?" Addison frowned at the trembling of Meredith's hands

"My hat! Where's it?" Meredith looked around, her hands shaking. They hadn't found time to shave it off. Derek had cut her hair on shoulder length close after surgery but she had always been hiding her head with a beanie. She was scared that her girls would have a hard time with it

"Oh, here it is!" Addison helped Meredith put it on "Let's go to your room" Addison started pushing Meredith back

The two women chuckled when they reached the room. Derek had fallen asleep on the bed while the girls were watching tv

Meredith knew he barely slept lately. He was always hovering over her

"Girls, can you move a little bit so mommy can get into bed?" Addison asked softly

"Don't wake daddy" Meredith weakly said as Addison helped her out of the chair and into the bed "Oh-" She panted and her shaking hand reached out for her chest

"I'll give you some oxygen" Addison said sternly, knowing Meredith would possibly throw a fit about it but this time she agreed

Addison wrapped the nasal cannula around Meredith's head and made sure she was comfortable

"Mom suggested to come over tonight" Addison took a seat in the chair next to the bed

"I feel so guilty" Meredith sighed

"Oh Mer, please don't" Addison grabbed Meredith's hand

"I know" Meredith sighed

"Maybe we should take a look at your hair tonight" Addison rubbed Meredith's hand

"Y-Yeah" She nodded weakly. On that moment they got disturbed by Bailey who knocked on the door

"Maybe you should wake up Derek" Bailey sighed

"Should I take the girls for a snack?" Addison asked Bailey who nodded in response

"D-Der" Meredith weakly shook him awake

"Mer? What's- oh?" Derek saw Bailey standing in front of the bed

"I don't have very good news" Bailey sighed

"What's wrong?" Derek asked and wrapped his arms around Meredith

"The cancer in your stomach is taking over but no mets in your lungs. With your ovaries and uterus gone the cancer is only in your stomach for now" Bailey sighed "And Tom wants to stop radiation, your tremble is getting too bad" Bailey started explaining

"Can you cut it out?" Meredith asked

"It's everywhere.. Usually we would give you palliative care.." Bailey promised "But I wanna try. I wanna continue chemo, dose it up and more often" Bailey rubbed Meredith's arm softly as she was convinced she could help Meredith
