It's Everleigh's first day of high school. Norma drops her off in the car line.
"Bye mom. Love you." Everleigh says as she gets her backpack out of the car.
"Have a good day sweetheart." Norma tells Everleigh.
"I will." Everleigh closes the door and she run over to Sophia. They walk into high school together.
They have first period together. They go to Math class.
"Welcome freshman's to high school." The teacher, Miss. Gilbert, says to the class. "Today we are gonna go over some basic math that you should've learned in 8th grade." Miss. Gilbert announces.
They go over math for the whole period.
~LUNCHTIME~
Sophia and Everleigh sit by some juniors at lunch.
"Hey freshman's." One of the juniors say.
"Hey." Sophia says while Everleigh just smiles.
"What are you doing after school?" A hot boy asks.
"Nothing." Sophia and Everleigh both say.
"Wanna come to a party with us tonight?" The same guy asks.
"Sure." They both answer again.
"I'm Jackson by the way." Jackson introduces himself.
"I'm Everleigh."
"And I'm Sophia."
"Pretty names." Jackson says in a flirty tone. "Could I get your numbers?" Jackson asks.
"Sure. Mines 503-566-3490." Everleigh says.
"Mines 503-221-6047." Sophia says.
"I'll text you later." Jackson says with a smirk.
"So when's this party?" Sophia asks.
"6:00 at my house." Jackson says.
"Ok sounds good." Sophia says.
"So who are all of your friends?" Everleigh asks.
The girl next to Jackson is Heather, the girl next to Heather is Gracie, the boy next to Gracie is Kyle, the girl next to Kyle is Sasha, and the boy next to Sasha is Kamron.
"Nice to meet you all." Everleigh says.
The bell rings and they all go to class.
~THE END OF THE DAY~
The dismissal bell rings and everyone leaves. Everleigh hops into the car.
"How was your first day?" Norma asks.
"Good. I got invited to a beginning of the school year party." Everleigh says.
"Are you planning on going?" Norma asks.
"I want to but I'm not sure yet." Everleigh says.
"Ok." Norma says.
"Sophia and I are in a lot of classes together." Everleigh continues the conversation.
Norma pulls into the driveway. They both go inside.
Norma starts making dinner and Everleigh goes upstairs and texts Sophia.
E: are you going to the party?
S: my dad said I can't
E: why
S: I asked why and he yelled at me
E: oh I'm sorry
S: it's ok
Everleigh gets a text from Jackson.
E: I got a text from Jackson 😍
S: do you like him?
E: of course I do! Have you seen him? He's hot
S: I think Kyle's cute
E: same but I think Jackson's cuter
S: at least we don't have to worry about fighting over them
E: yeah
S: well I'm gonna go. Talk later
E: bye I love you bestie
S: love you too 💕
Everleigh opens the text Jackson sent.
J: hey cutie
E: hey
J: are you still coming to the party?
E: yea but Sophia isn't
J: that's a shame
E: I know
J: but at least you can go
E: what's your address?
J: 449 Brown Avenue
E: ok thanks
J: see you later
E: see ya 👋
"Everleigh! Dinners ready!" Norma calls up the stairs.
"Coming!" Everleigh yells back as she run downstairs.
They sit down at the table then Alex walks in the door.
"Dad!" Everleigh yells as she runs over to Alex.
"Hey jellybean." Alex says.
Everleigh hugs her dad.
"Let dad get in the door." Norma says as she giggles.
Everleigh goes back to the table and sits down.
Norma sets her plate down.
Alex walks over to the table and he kisses Norma. He sits down next to Everleigh and then Norma sits down. The family eats in peace for the first time since Norman came.
Everleigh rushes upstairs and tries to find a outfit. She decides to wear jeans and a white floral crop top with vans. She quickly gets dressed and runs downstairs.
"Mom can you drive me to the party." Everleigh asks.
"Su-"
Alex cuts Norma off. "A party?" He asks.
"Yea?" Everleigh asks confused.
"You're letting her go to a party?" Alex asks Norma.
"Yeah. Chill down let her be a kid. Nothing is gonna happen." Norma says.
"I've seen what happens at parties. I get people come in injured all of the time." Alex fights back.
"It's ok hun. She'll be ok." Norma tries to convince Alex.
"Please dad." Everleigh begs.
"Call one of us if you get hurt or think you're gonna get hurt. Please be safe. No drinking." Alex demands.
"I will dad." Everleigh says.
"Let's go honey." Norma says as they walk out of the house.
They get to the house and Norma drops Everleigh off.
"Be safe honey." Norma begs.
"I will. I promise." Everleigh says as she gets out of the car.
Everleigh walks in and Norma leaves. Everleigh starts to look for Jackson.
E: where are you?
J: I'm by the fruit punch.
E: ok I'm coming
J: see ya any minute now
Everleigh walks over to the fruit punch. She spots Jackson and he sees her too.
"Hey Ev." Jackson says as he puts down his beer.
"Hey Jackson." Everleigh says.
"You can just call me Jack." Jackson says.
"Ok, Jack." Everleigh smiles.
"Wanna drink?" Jackson offers.
"Sure. Just a sprite please and I'll go to the bathroom while you do that." Everleigh says.
Jackson goes over to the kitchen. He pours the sprite and he spikes it. Everleigh comes out of the bathroom and she goes to the kitchen.
"Thanks." Everleigh says when Jackson hands her the sprite.
She takes a sip.
"That's some good sprite." Everleigh says.
A few minutes later Jackson and Everleigh are dancing together. Everleigh suddenly falls forward. Jackson catches her.
"Whoa you ok?" He asks.
"Yes. I just need to sit down." Everleigh says.
Jackson brings Everleigh up to his room.
