I think about the other night with Camilo, I smile greedily at the thoughts. I got a lot done in the past few days, with the house. I cleaned every room, wiped everything down and organised everything in neat boxes. I was pretty proud of myself.

Mother wasn't home today, she was out with her friends. I can't believe she's more bothered to go see her friends rather than spend time with her only daughter. It's okay I guess, I consider the Madrigals as my family.

Today was the most important day in town that is celebrated once a year, encanto's birthday. I was really excited because there was a massive festival happening in the Casitatonight and I got to help the Madrigals set the decorations up.

As I left the house, I quickly made sure I had all the materials and equipment they needed: fabric, fairy lights, balloons and paper. I place them neatly in the basket. The Madrigals didn't live too far from me, it would take me approximately 2 minutes to get there if I ran but ceebs.

When I arrived I entered the already opened door, I meet Dolores and Isabela.

"Here guyss I got the materials," I say lifting up the basket.

"Thanks, y/n, you seem to have pretty much everything we need," Isabela says leading us to her room.

We decided to cut flowers out of the coloured paper and attach them to the fairy lights. It was a pretty smart idea of Dolores. It looked like cute lit up flowers. We needed to decorate the house as much as possible. When we finished crafting, we placed all the decorations back into 3 baskets, ready to go put them up.

"Yay, the decorations look pretty good to be honest, we need them to look good as the WHOLE town will be partying in our house tonight," Dolores says holding the basket.

"I'm excited about the food mostly," I laugh. They both giggle, "what about Camilo?" she asks.

"What about him?" I tease.

We all laugh.

Then I see him turn around the corner. He looks at me then at the basket of decorations.

"Oh, you guys already putting up decorations?" he asks.

"Yup, you can help y/n put those ones she's holding up," Isabela says before pushing the basket into Camilo's arms.

They turn around quickly leaving us together...alone...again.

Camilo looked confused.

"Well, let's go put these up shall we?" he says lifting the basket.

I nod, "hmm let's do the backyard first, I think Isabela and Dolores are doing the front," I say walking beside him.

We both walk into the backyard, deciding where to hang which ones first.

"Let's do the fairy lights first," I say before handing him the other end, "Oh and up there, just on the edge of the roof."

He grabs the other end and shapeshifts into a taller person, stretching up and pinning it onto the edge. He drags the other end onto the other side of the roof. As he shapeshifts back, he hands me the switch and I put in the batteries and turned it on. The whole roof lit brightly. We smile at each other. We spent the rest of the time putting up the rest of the decorations, of course, we talked most of the time. Once we finished, Isabela and Dolores walk outside to check it out.

"Wow, you guys did a pretty good job," Dolores says with her hand on her hip,

"Yeah, actually better than ours, kidding, we added flowers and cactuses on the side along with colourful bushes," Isabela says proudly.

"Camilo did most of it though," I laugh.

"Yup, all me," he says confidently.

I didn't realise it was already 3 pm, we had a few more hours left till the festival starts. We all go check up on Julieta to see how the food is going.

We spot her in the kitchen, along with the other adults. Felix and Pepa were quietly talking in front of the stove, Abuela was talking to Bruno and Julieta, then Mirabel and Luisa walks in.

"You guys ready for tonight?" Mirabel says excitedly.

We all cheer together.

The food took another hour and when we finished, we had more than 30 plates of food. Casita organised a massive feasting table in the middle of the house, expanding on the space so we're able to fit the whole town in. As we bring the food out, people start coming from the village. That's when the music began playing and conversations began to fill the air.

I spoke with Mirabel while enjoying the lot of food. I never had a chance to speak with her so I talked to her about making the decorations. She thought they looked pretty good and we laugh together, containing our conversation.

After that, I went to Camilo and talked for a while with Antonio.

"Will you have an animal performance this year?" I tease him.

"Yes, this time it'll be even better than last year, I've trained them," he says smiling.

"Your's was pretty good last year," Camilo says before putting a hand on his shoulder, "good luck to this year."

He laughs and hugs Camilo. I couldn't help but smile at those two. He lets go and runs off to talk to his other friends.

"Hey y/n, wanna go outside, away from all the noise?" he asks pointing towards the door.

"Oh yeah, I do need a little fresh air," I say back. It did feel hot in here with all the food and people dancing.

I follow him outside, in front of the Casita. I look outside and notice the evening almost darken over, it was sunset.

"That's my favourite colour," he says looking at me while pointing at the sky. The sky was soaked in a beautiful blood orange colour.

I smile at him, "sunsets are better than sunrises in my opinion."

He agrees, looking back at the sky.

We both stare at the sky, the noise in the casita began to slowly fade away. I feel a finger touch my palm before sliding into my fingers. I clasp them tightly. I look over at my hand and see that his hand was wrapped around mine. My stomach fluttered so much. I couldn't help but smile like a child. He looks at me.

"Stop smiling like a child," he says before chuckling.

"Shush," I say before pinching his cheek.

We stayed there, our hands wrapped tightly together.

The evening began to darken over, revealing the beautiful night sky.

I close my eyes and feel the wind blow in my face.

It felt cool against my skin, I felt so happy.

I look towards him, he smiles at me.

I smile back.
