-Y/N's POV-

How is it every time I visit the Casita to see my friends, there's always something going wrong? Well, I suppose it was worse today. Much, much worse. When I came by everyone was looking for Mirabel. And it didn't seem like anyone's gifts were working properly. Camilo was walking around the Casita with the head of a baby, shouting Mirabel's name. What happened? I stepped into the kitchen hoping that I could find someone to explain. No one was there, but god it was a mess! There were cracks in the floor, a plant had even grown out of one. The piano was halfway down a couple of stairs, had Luisa done that? Glasses of red wine had been spilled on the table. There were, out of all things, feathers littered everywhere. And everything in the room was soaked. As though it had rained inside. Pepa.

I quickly began walking to her room, in hopes she'd be hiding out there. Maybe I could get an explanation out of her. Once I reached the second floor I saw Mirabel, she had gone into Isabela's room. Should I do something about that? No wait, Pepa. Priorities! Plus I'm sure she'll still be there when I'm done talking to Pepa. Right?

I knocked on her door and waited for a response. "Go away! I told you to leave me alone Julieta!" She sounded upset. Well no shit!

"Pepa, it's me. Can I come in?" I waited a bit, I heard movement from inside the room, followed by quick footsteps. Then the door swung open, inward. And in front of me stood Pepa. She wasn't soaked like I though she might be. Must have already changed.

"Camilo I swear to god if you-!" She waved a finger in my face as she began scolding me. Not wait, not me, Camilo.

"Amor!" I grabbed her hand. "It's me. Camilo's gift doesn't even seem to be working right now. Can you tell me what's going on?" She paused before looking me up and down. I became nervous for some odd reason.

"Alright fine. I'll tell you what's happened."

She never invited me into her room. We just stood on the second floor as she explained everything to me. Isabela's engagement was ruined by Mirabel. I probably should've stopped her from going into her room. Too late now.

Pepa kept talking. Though I stopped focusing on what she was saying. Mirabel and Isabela have left the room. They both looked happy though. Next thing I knew, they were dancing on the roof. Not the safest thing I've ever seen. But to be fair, it looked like fun. Pepa still hadn't noticed. She was going on about some vision? Meanwhile her nieces had just hugged. Since when did they hug? Why the fuck is the candle burning like shit?

Pepa had finally stopped talking as she noticed where my attention had been. "You're a bad influence."

"What is going on?" Alma had arrived back at the Casita.

Mirabel and Alma began to argue. I'd never seen them like this before. Me and Pepa both watched the scene unfold from the second floor. "I don't know why you weren't given a gift! But it is not an excuse for you to hurt this family!" Silence. She struck a core. Now that, that was too far. I began walking downstairs, Pepa following behind me.

"I will never.. be good enough for you. Will I? No matter how hard I try. No matter how hard any of us tries. Luisa will never be strong enough. Isabela will never be perfect enough." Me and Pepa now stood near Augustine and Julieta, who'd arrived just a bit earlier. "Bruno left this family because you only saw the worst in him!"

"Bruno didn't care about this family!" Alma had never liked talking about Bruno. That's why she made a rule 'We don't talk about Bruno'. And now, in a fight with her granddaughter, she's willing to yell about how he betrayed them.

"He loves this family! We all love this family! You're the one that doesn't care! You're the one breaking our home!"

"Don't you ever-!"

"The Miracle is dying because of you!" Then the cracks appeared. Everywhere.

"No, no, no!" Pepa yelled from beside me, holding up both hands as if that would stop the house from falling. Would the Casita hold up? No, no building could. The house was going to fall. Yet Mirabel, Camilo, and Isabela all tried to get to the candle.

Julieta, Augustine, Pepa, and I pushed back against the house in attempts to stop Mirabel from trying to get the the candle. Though none of us were successful. (You can actually see Pepa also fighting to leave the house in the background, I just thought that was cool!)

The four of us were thrown out of the house with all the others. Mirabel made it to the candle, but Bruno's tower began falling shortly after. Mirabel fell on the way down, Casita tried to help her but it was useless. After that I couldn't see a thing. There was too much unsettled dust everywhere. The family and I stood up and began making sure everyone was okay. But the only people who tried to find Mirabel were Julieta, Pepa, and I. Pepa was the one who found her.

I heard a scream. I looked over at Pepa who was further into the house than anyone. Me and Julieta ran over to see what had happened. Once I got there, I saw why she'd seemed so upset.

Mirabel. She wasn't breathing. Laying on her chest was a boulder. Depending on how it hit, it could kill anyone. But Julieta couldn't have that. Her youngest daughter couldn't be dead. I watched as the woman pushed the boulder off her daughters corpse. Of course without the adrenaline that would've been much harder. Julieta held Mirabel's dead body close to her and cried.

It wasn't long before the rest of the family had made their way over as well. There wasn't a single dry eye there. Mirabel, the second youngest of all the Madrigals. The only one who was different from her family, was dead. I held Pepa as she cried into my shoulder.

Over the next few weeks everything was different. Camilo, Dolores, Felix, and Isabela had to drag people around to help rebuild the Casita. And though the magic was restored it just isn't the same anymore. Bruno had come out of hiding when Dolores told him the news. Julieta hasn't been keeping up with the demand for healing food half as well as she used to. Antonio refuses to leave his room. And Pepa refuses to go home at all. She's been staying with me, refusing to make contact with anyone else.

And at this very moment? I was sitting on the couch when Pepa walked into the room, a cloud over her head. "Didn't you go to bed an hour ago?" I looked up at her and then to the clock to make sure I had read it right.

"Nightmare..." She mumbled. Then sat down next to me on the couch. She hasn't been able to sleep well since the accident. She kept getting nightmares of Mirabel's dead body. And she wasn't the only one. I got word from Dolores that both Julieta and Isabela are also experiencing them.

I pulled Pepa into a hug, shortly after, she began to cry. The cloud above us began raining. Though I couldn't care less. I can deal with a soggy couch, the last thing I want is for the Madrigals to keep going on like this.

Soon Pepa ran out of tears to cry and we just sat there, hugging. "Do you want to try to go back to sleep?" I pulled away for a second to look at her. She was hesitant, but nodded slowly.

I walked with her back to the bedroom. I changed out of my soaking clothes in the bathroom while she changed in the bedroom. Afterwards i tucked her in and went to leave. I had been sleeping on the couch while she's been over. Though I suppose I'll have to take the floor since the couch is soaked.

"Wait." I turned around to look at her.

"Yes, amor?"

"Can you sleep in here tonight.? The couch is drenched anyway.."

I smiled and walked back over. "I suppose I can." After I had gotten in the bed Pepa wasted no time in hugging me close. That was the first night she slept all the way through.
