The next morning Allison awoke laying on her side, face to face with Billy, who was sleeping soundly. His strong arms were still wrapped tightly around her and their legs were intertwined, making it impossible for her to get up without waking him as well.

To pass the time, she traced over his face with her finger tip, being careful to avoid the small wound on his cheek bone. Eventually, her touch lulled Billy awake and a small smile formed on his lips as he opened his eyes. He tried to move and winced, taking a deep breath in through his nose.

"What's wrong?", Allison asked, searching his face for answers.

"My pain meds wore off, that's all.", Billy explained with a groan, rolling onto his back and clutching his stomach.

"Where are they?"

"My pants...back pocket.", he answered through labored breaths, resulting in Allison jumping out of bed and searching through the clothes on the floor. She returned with a small bottle and handed it to Billy, who poured two pills into the palm of his hand.

"Do you need water?", she inquired in a panic, fully prepared to throw on her clothes and run to the kitchen. Billy shook his head and tossed the pills into his mouth, swallowing them with ease.

"I'll be fine. They'll kick in soon.", he assured a concerned looking Allison, placing his hand on her thigh as she sat down beside him with tears pooling in her eyes. "Are you alright?"

"Me? Yeah, I'm fine. You're the one in pain. You're the one with broken bones. The one who almost...died. Not me!", Allison was on the verge of hysterics by the time she realized what was happening.

"Come here.",Billy whispered, holding out his arms and beckoning Allison towards him. She cautiously laid back down beside him, not wanting to cause him any more pain. "Talk to me." ,he insisted, tucking her hair behind her ear.

"I don't know what's wrong with me. I just feel like I'm afraid of everything. Especially the future, and knowing that I have to figure it all out without my Dad-", her words were replaced by an unexpected sob and she covered her mouth with her hand. "I need my Dad!", she cried, allowing all of the emotions that she had been surpressing in regards to Hopper's death, to burst out of her.

"Alright, let it out. You shouldn't hold that shit in.", Billy consoled her, gently rubbing her back. Over Allison's shoulder he could see the pictures on the walls start to shake, and he tried not to react. "I'm sorry about your Dad, but you aren't alone. I'm not going anywhere.",he promised, watching Allison's powers settle down as her body relaxed against his.

Allison stayed in Billy's arms until his medication kicked in, taking away the pain and knocking him unconscious in the process. She wiped the tears off of her face as she sat up and climbed out of bed, gathering her clothes. Once she was dressed, she unlocked the door and stepped out into the hallway, ignoring the dull pain between her legs.

As she stepped into the kitchen the room fell silent, with every pair of eyes turning towards her. She adjusted her clothes nervously, earning several knowing looks from her friends. Murray opened his mouth to make a comment, but Joyce shot him a look of warning from where she stood behind the counter.

"Good morning...er...afternoon.",Joyce corrected herself as she adressed Allison, checking the time on her watch. "How are you feeling?", she asked, stepping closer to her.

"Fine.", Allison shrugged.

"That's great. And what about Billy?"

"He's okay for now, but he's gonna need us to get some things.",she added, turning her attention towards the table where Max was seated. "He'll need clothes, pajamas, a toothbrush, and anything else you can think of."
