I woke up with a start sweating profusely a special area of my sweatpants bulging.
"Oh God" I groaned as I looked at the constriction
Not only had I had one of the most erotic dreams of my life it was with someone I couldn't dare think of having. I turned to my side to see Alexandra fast asleep "thank God" I whispered calmly afraid to wake her up I got up rushing into the shower knowing the cold water would help cool me down
I had just finished fixing my tie when Alexandra stirred awake "Good morning Hugh" she said with a smile "good morning wifey" I replied the endearment not coming out as sincerely as I'd hoped
"Awwn.... she replied as she came to meet me with purposeful strides as her arms wrapped themselves around my neck with her rising a bit to place her lips gently on mine I returned the kiss halfheartedly praying she did not notice my lack of enthusiasm nor would she question it for I wouldn't know the answer to give.
Perhaps you'd tell her your lack of enthusiasm would be because of a certain dark haired woman
"What would you have for breakfast now as you didn't wake me as you promised" she asked with a small frown on her face.
I sat by the window in my conference room my mind very far from the director who seemed to be giving his pitch concerning us investing in his new commercial my thoughts all centered on Normani and that dream I had this morning "Mr Sterling....Mr Sterling.... my PA called out to me successfully drawing me out of my thoughts "Hmmm? I retorted a bit confused
"Your phone...sir" she said her gaze directed at my vibrating phone I looked up to find several stares of people seated around the table looking at me weirdly though they tried to hide it I could tell they had decided I was far away from this meeting "it's been ringing" she added
"Alright......Excuse me" I said walking out of there only to find my mother's face showing boldly on the ringing screen "hello mum I'm having an important meeting right now may I call you back" I told her about to hang up till she spoke in a loud voice
"Don't you dare hang up on me.....Normani's gone into labour" she muttered hurriedly "What! I exclaimed shock written all over my face as well as in my voice as I don't wait for her to finish but hurriedly rush down the hallway till a voice call out to me "Mr Sterling....the conference"
"Finish up I've got an emergency to attend to"with that I hurried into the elevator not caring if she'd heard me or not the only thought on my mind was Normani.
On getting to the hospital I met my mother and surprisingly Noah "Hugh...thank goodness you are here"he greeted me on arrival
"Yeah...when did you get here?" I asked
"Normani had called me...when you weren't picking up your mother's call" he answered my eyes narrowed at Normani being the one to call him
"Why didn't you call Alexandra? I asked my mother
"Her line had been unreachable"
"Alright let me see if I am able to reach her....but first where's Normani is she okay" I asked with worry etched on my face
"Yeah she's fine they place her in a room as she's just having mild contractions for now"mom said
"Alright...take me to her" I requested immediately
I kept trying Alexandra's line as we all walked to the room Normani was being placed in "any luck" Noah asked as I nodded my head in the negative "no it's still unreachable"I replied
Walking into the room I found Normani Lying on the bed sweats glistening on her forehead her hair wrapped in a distressed Afro bun"you okay" I ask her
As I rushed to her side "hmm hmm" she mused trying to reassure me but it was obvious she was stressed out and in pain "what did the doctor say and where's Claire" I asked holding her hand in mine their softness mushed against my hard ones
"She said she'll be here soon.." she dragged her hands squeezing mine as another wave of contractions hit her this one I was sure wasn't mild
"Mrs Sterling Mr Crane Hugh..." Claire greeted on arrival "where's Alexandra" she asked
"I've sent her a text I'm guessing she'll be here soon"
"Alright then....Normani darling how are you feeling" she asked as she placed her hands on her curly mane"fine.." was her simple reply
"How are the contractions how many minutes apart"she asked her hands rubbing at her hair
"Ummm they're about seconds apart now...thirty at most" Normani as she squeezes my hand again a sign of another painful contractions the squeeze laying longer than the rest"and they last longer now"
"That's good to hear.... Claire states with a smile
"Give me a moment let me go and get the doctor Hugh you're gonna be a father in some hours time are you ready" she questioned with a friendly smirk
As she immediately left not giving me time to respond"Get ready man" Noah says giving me a bro pat on my back
