She hung up on me

I had just called Claire to give her the good news that we'd found Normani and she hung up on me her words being "Hugh let me call you back"

What was so important that she had to call me back seconds after I'd just told her good news

I was getting ready to head to the address where Normani was currently staying at it's taken me a good four months to finally be able to grab a hold of her.I mean I had hired a private detective who was tracking her phone but since it's been turned off all this while it made the task more than difficulty but today he'd called to let me know she'd turned on the phone and made a call to someone that was how we were able to find her.

The detective had wanted to tell me who she'd been in contact with I hadn't stayed to listen all I was concerned about was her address so I could go bring her back.

"You heading out now" Noah called out to me from the floor mat where he and Tommy sat to play the little man raised his head to stare at me as if waiting for my response "yeah...I'll be back"I told him coming towards him so I could place a kiss on Tommy's head he giggled lightly at the act

"Soon I'll be bringing mommy back" I told him watching as he scrunched up his nose as if in thoughts then he responded"Momma!

And to that I smiled nodding my head in response
He'd been saying that word a lot lately and soon he'd be one and walking around a lot at the rate he is going.

"You're still here" mom said coming down from the kitchen a bowl of soft mashed up fruits in her hands "yeah mom I'm about to head out"

"Good luck" she wished me on my mission

It took me a while to get to the address Normani was currently staying it seemed like hours for it was already noon. I made sure to pack in front of the building just incase of any surprises.

I had just arrived from the store I needed a few grocery in the house did I just say few I needed a lot I have been broke for a while now surviving on cup noodles and after my repeated missed call to Claire I finally got through to her.

Thank God I did for I would have slept on an empty stomach tonight which really wasn't healthy.

"We are here miss" the taxi driver said another good thing I was able to afford all thanks to Claire

"Here thank you" I told him handing him his cash and telling him to keep the change which he thanked me for and me waving him off he'd been one of the kindest person to me when I first moved here

I can't count how many free rides he'd given me to the store and hospital "don't mention it...and have a good evening" I got out of the taxi and watched him drive off before turning to face my old washed off apartment building as I braced myself for the journey ahead

"seventy seven" I gasped out Grateful I made it with my hands placed at my lower back I paused to inhale and exhale knowing it helped with my condition all this time I hadn't even noticed there was a person standing in front of my door

As I opened my eyes I stared at the two shiny pair of shoe staring back at me I lifted my heads up in slow motion taking in the navy blue trouser pants and the crisps white shirt till my eyes landed at the person wearing them causing me to jump back in shock

Of all the ways I'd envisioned meeting Normani Janine I could say this was definitely not on my list as I let my eye feast on her I was equally more shocked than she was. She looked tired and her hair had lost some of it shine although it was still as curly as ever wrapped up in a messy bun atop her head I let my eyes scan her face taking in the look of surprise and shock she had experienced on seeing me here then she appeared to have lost a bit of weight and gained some in her belly??

I blinked once then twice

My eyes greedily taking in the sight of her middle it appeared slightly rounded just as it had been when she was with Tommy

This made me come to one conclusion

Normani was pregnant!!

No that came out wrong

Normani is with child!!

Whose child?

I couldn't help but wonder just as she spoke more like screeched in shock no doubt

"MR HUGH!!
