Fred Weasley's eyes widened as he entered the grand art gallery. The ceiling stretched high above him, and the walls were adorned with the most elegant of artwork. The muttered sound of chatter and heels on tile flooring filled his ears as he gazed at the ethereal setting. It was no surprise considering how wealthy the Malfoy's were.

In the center of the floor stood a marble statue that mimicked the family portrait of Lucius, Narcissa, and Draco. Lucius stood with his arm around Narcissa and his hand on Draco's shoulder. The marble was an off-white, greyish tone with hints of silver strewn throughout. Fred scoffed under his breath at the art piece, a harsh contrast to the misfit holiday photos of the Weasley's hung up around the burrow.

He tucked his hand into the pocket of his dress trousers, thanking the passing waiter as he grabbed a glass of champagne in his other hand. It was the grand opening of the Malfoy Art Gallery, an extravagant building filled with artwork of prestige wizard artists. It was Narcissa's idea, somewhat of a gift to the wizarding world after her husband's part in the second war.

To be quite honest, Fred would rather be practically anywhere else than where he was, smiling at snoody guests and posh, old couples. As much as the Malfoy's played up their gallery as a gift, anyone with a brain knew full well it was only earning them more money than grace.

The invitation had been dropped off at the joke shop only weeks prior.

George scoffed as he tossed the gold card into the trash bin. Fred's brows furrowed as he looked at his brother, curiously.

"The Malfoy's," George snorted, "It's an invitation to some art gallery opening."

George took the rest of his mail to his office, leaving Fred to stand alone with a heavy heart. His mind fought back and forth between paying no mind to it, and grabbing the card from the bin for the time and location. He seemed to lose the battle as he huffed and dug the card out, he checked behind him to make sure George was gone before he quickly memorized the date and tossed it back in the bin.

Fred realized as soon as he entered the gallery, dressed up in a black suit, his white shirt unbuttoned at the top, that he made a mistake. He mulled over the thought of just apparating back to his flat, but he had made it this far and he'd be damned if he left without at least trying to find Y/N.

It had been about six months since Y/N and Fred had split up. It was a mutual understanding, the battles they fought in their own minds were too challenging to keep up with and they agreed to give each other their own space. But with every month that passed Fred only missed her more and when he found out a month before that Y/N was dating Draco Malfoy he was shocked, to say the least.

Not only had she moved into a new relationship, but with Malfoy of all people. Fred theorized everything, curses or bribes, but when he saw her in Diagon Alley one afternoon, a genuine smile on her lips as she sat with Draco at a coffee shop, he understood that it was real for her.

His breath hitched in his throat as he saw her, grabbing Draco's pale hand in her own. She laughed quietly before taking a sip of her latte, listening intently to Draco's story. Draco was very animated in his storytelling, waving his hands about until he accidentally knocked a cup off their table. She gasped as it fell, clasping her hand over her mouth.
