James Potter loved to party. He loved the adrenaline he felt as the alcohol coursed through his veins and the energy of the people in the crowd around him. He loved being young and savored every last drop of his youth. James considered himself lucky to have mates that could keep up, Sirius and Remus were always at his side, hyping him up and encouraging his reckless behavior.

Y/N loved to party too, it was the first night they met James was sure he'd met his match. She had him wrapped around her finger from the beginning. She was fun and quick-witted, she kept James on his toes, unaware of her next move and that made it all the more fun.

They'd met one night at a muggle bar the boys had gone to for Remus' birthday. It was a bar they'd been to several times before, the pretty bartender always gave them their first drinks on the house for their charming good looks and charisma. It was a bar in muggle London, but it was well known by the wizards around and therefore mostly always packed with wizards and witches, maybe a muggle companion or two. But when James laid eyes on the woman swaying her hips in a silver, satin dress on the table across the room, he wasn't sure if she was a witch, or an angel.

"Go on, Prongs." Sirius patted James's shoulder, drunkenly downing his next shot as he lazily pushed James in the direction of the girl.

James was quick on his feet as he made his way across the room, he leaned casually against a booth by her table, admiring from afar and watching the girl let loose. She looked like she was having wicked fun, she didn't seem to notice the group she had attracted, nor did she seem to care. But when she caught James' gaze with her own, she was suddenly only interested in one bystander; him.

The pair went home together that night, drunkenly swaying arm in arm along the muggle streets of London. With every giggle that left her lips, James fell harder for the girl he had just learned the name of.

"You sat on your wand?" She laughed, tossing her head back, "What a git, you are."

James shook his head, fondly, "I didn't do it on purpose, Y/N." He chuckled, enjoying the sound of her name rolling off his tongue.

"Well obviously bloody not," She playfully pushed his shoulder, "I just can't believe you didn't feel it in your back pocket before you sat on it."

James shrugged, "Well, maybe I was distracted."

"By a woman, no doubt." She laughed.

James feigned a shocked expression, "How dare you accuse me of such a thing? Who do you think I am, some bloke who takes a woman home on the first date?"

Her laughter died down as she shook her head playfully at him, "What kind of a bloke are you then?"

James pursed his lips, letting his head fall back in thought to gaze at the night sky, giving Y/N a glimpse of his strong jawline and exposed collar bones. He was gorgeous, she knew that much, and clearly she liked him enough to let him take her home.

"The kind of bloke who thinks you're incredibly beautiful and very interesting."

"Hmm," She teasingly raised a brow, "You sure about that, James? You've barely known me for an hour."
