A/N: This chapter may have trigger words in it for some. As Dayanara at last tells Jace what James Herondale did to her.

Dayanara, frowned she looked out the window, wrapping her arms around herself. She had always hoped that he was out there somewhere living a quiet life. In a way she supposed he had been, he had been so close and yet so far away from her. Dayanara, was so deep in thought she didn't hear Magnus enter the room, until he cleared his throat.

"Hey there, kitten. Normally after something like this I would offer you a stiff drink. But things being as they are I come baring a warm cup of tea." Magnus said as he walked up her.

Dayanara, didn't meet Magnus's eyes at first as she took the tea cup from him.

"You and Jace must think terribly of me?" Dayanara said to Magnus as she slowly brought her eyes up to meet his.

Magnus reached out to touch the top of her right hand. "Worried about all of you yes. Think terribly of you never, none of us are perfect. Even I have my own demons that I fight with from time to time. Though I can't speak for Jace completely, I'm sure he doesn't think badly of you. The one way to find out is to talk to him. You've been through a lot over the last twenty-four hours so pace yourself."

Dayanara sighed as she took a sip of tea. "I knew you were going to say that."

"How did you start a conversation like that. I'm sorry I ran the second I heard the name Herondale. Not to mention never telling you I was pregnant." Dayanara asked her best friend.

When someone knocked on the door before speaking. Interrupting.
"Knock, knock is it all right if I come in?" Came the unsure voice of Jace.

"Come in, Jace." Dayanara replied allowing Jace to enter.

Magnus looked at Jace and then Dayanara.

"I'll leave the two of you to talk." Magnus said as he picked up his cup of tea and left the bedroom.

The two remaining in the room were silent as Magnus left and closed the door behind him. A few seconds ticked by before one of them spoke.

"I'm sorry that I ran without even telling you I was pregnant. When I got to the Institute and saw that hologram of you in the basement. I knew you were in trouble and I was thinking of ways to find you then when Valentine in Luke's body said that you were a Herondale, all those terrifying memories can rushing to the surface so I panicked. I just wanted to get away from it, I couldn't face the fact that you shared blood with him.  So I took our kids and I ran like a coward." Dayanara finally confessed to Jace.

"Magnus told me that my great, great grandfather had done something horrible to you back then. I'll listen when you're ready." Jace said
He then gently gazed a thumb over one of the scars on her left arm.
"He, did this to you didn't he?" Jace asked as more of a statement than a question.
But Dayanara didn't deny it, so Jace now knew that James Herondale was at least responsible for a few of her physical scars.
"He did so much more then the rune scars Jace." Before she could say more. Jace gently caress touched a place on her neck that Dayanara never thought he had noticed.
"What a about this one." Jace asked softly
"Yes. He strangled me with an electrical cord. But before I took my last breath my dormant immortality awoke the second Gabriel Lightwood saved me." Dayanara choked out.

Something in Jace's eyes darkened at hearing this.
"There is more, Jace. James Herondale and his friends took more from me that night then almost my life. They raped me and took everything." Dayanara sobbed out.
"Gabriel wanted them to be deruned if I had been  a Shadowhunter they would have been. But because of my Warlock blood. The best he could do was have me moved from the London Institute to New York. After that I only saw him a few other times after that. Dayanara said before continuing.
"It was the day I was moved to New York. My treatment became better. Even though Gabriel promised to visit as much as he could. I knew he wouldn't. His parents were pressuring him to marry. I knew he cared deeply for me, but I also knew it would be a long time if at all. So during that last day with him while I was free of my cuffs, I did the spell my father had talked about wanting to do with my mother. To bound one's soul to another's. I was to afraid of losing him in a battle. That I was blinded to what I was going to lose him to." Dayanara sighed as she sat down on the window seat, resting a hand on her very pregnant belly.

"When word of his engagement to Cecily Herondale reached me I couldn't believe it. Gabriel came to me later that week and said he was going to tell his parents that he couldn't go through with it. But I told him not to, so he married Cecily. After that Anna was born and he was still trying to free me. He'd send me secret fire messages. Those messages spoke of how much he loved me and that he couldn't continue this lie with Cecily. When Christopher was born, so did his letters. I knew then that I had lost him." Dayanara said as she looked up at Jace with tear filled eyes.

"I never knew any of this was going to happen when I came to get you away from Valentine. I didn't secretly plan all this to entrap you." Dayanara was suddenly looking into Jace's mismatched eyes.

Jace was now kneeling down in front of her.

"I know you didn't. You've been a victim in all this to. I don't regret any of this. Doing that would mean regretting our children and I can't do that either." Jace said placing a hand over hers.

"I feel like I should be the one apologizing to you, Dayanara. For everything James Herondale did to you." Jace said in a sad tone.

Dayanara, reached out and placed a hand on Jace's cheek.
"You're not him, the rational side of me knew that. But the unrational side of me, could only see the past, I know better then to do that now. The few months I've been away gave me time to think." Dayanara said

"You left something behind before. Magnus and I don't want you to take them back unless you truly want to." Jace said as he held something out to Dayanara. They were the necklaces that he and Magnus had given her.

"I shouldn't have taken them off. That was reckless of me. Magnus gave me it to protect me, and you gave me the key with the ruby on it to show me how much you love me."
Dayanara said as she reached out to take the necklace's from Jace.
Jace nodded his head. "I did but I was hoping to give you something a little different. I've never done this before so I don't know if I'm doing this right." Jace said as he knelt down on one knee in front of Dayanara.
Dayanara covered her mouth with a hand as Jace spoke. "Dayanara Bavol would you do me the honor of becoming my wife and partner?"

Tears started to form in her eyes.
"Do you really mean it. What about the other Shadowhunters, Alec's parents, your grandmother?" Dayanara asked, she knew what she wanted to say, but would it be ok if she did.

"I wouldn't have asked, if I didn't mean it. As for what people think, I don't give a damn what they think. I love you, the only people I care about are our friends and our little family." Jace said his voice was calm and unwavering as he spoke.

Dayanara nodded her head in return. "Yes, I'd love to marry you. I know I've said this before but I'm happy we can have a do over."

Dayanara looked down at the ring that Jace was holding out to her it was beautiful. The stone was a upside down teardrop white diamond set on a white gold band with a Triquetra on either side.

Jace then gently slid the ring onto her left ring finger. Dayanara wrapped her arms around his neck as she kissed him.

"I'm looking forward to continuing this family we have together. No matter how strange it might get. I'm a Shadowhunter after all. We do strange pretty well." Jace says with a smile.

He leans in to capture Dayanara's lips with his in a deep and passionate kiss. When Dayanara pulls out of the kiss.
Jace looks at her confused, "Dayanara, what is it what's wrong?"

Dayanara, place a hand to her stomach as she looked back up at Jace.

"I think you should get Magnus to call Catarina,Now!" Dayanara said in a surprised tone.
