Chapter 41: Does change scare you?

Camilla

Not as much as it used to.

I dropped the box that was in my hands. I cursed under my breath and heard Theo laughing at me from the doorway, "I offered to help you."

"Shut up, Parker."

Ms.Ella threw her door open. Her voice was sharp as she spoke, "Stop making all this noise."

"Sorry."

She glanced behind me to my open apartment door, noticing the rest of my stuff in boxes. "Moving?"

"Yeah," I smiled.

Nodding a slight frown went to her face, "Well, stay safe now Camilla."

"I will. Don't terrorize the new renter."

"I do not terrorize. I demand respect." She said, offended.

"Whatever you say." I looked back at Theo. "Can you get this box for me?"

He walked over picking the box up for me, "Was it so hard to ask for help?"

My eyes narrowed at him and he simply smiled before walking away.

Psychopath.

I walked back into my now old apartment, feeling a little sad about leaving it behind. Mostly just the memories made in it. But I guess memories travel with you. They're not tied down to one specific place.

I certainly won't miss paying all the rent. Or my upstairs neighbors. Don't know exactly who they are, but they moved in a few weeks ago. I swear it sounds like they're purposely walking as loud as they can at all hours of the day.

I hate them.

I grabbed another box preparing to walk down the hall.

I was going to hire people to help me move but their prices are scary so I resorted to having everyone who's friends with me help.

"How much shit do you have?" Mel complained.

"I'm giving some stuff away," I reminded her. "I'm only taking the stuff I need and love."

"You need twenty different blankets?"

"Theo's apartment is cold," I waved her off handing her the box I was holding since it was one of the light ones.

Sana and Zia sat arguing with each other while Rocco and Miles rolled their eyes at them. I shook my head grabbing another box and following Mel.

As I got outside tossing the box into the moving truck, I glanced around, spotting Theo talking to two random women, making them both laugh.
