TW: Gore

"Boom!" I shot straight out of the bed at the loud noise. Panic rushed through my body as I looked around the shaking room. Once I realized where I was and what had happened yesterday, it wasn't hard to guess what had happened.

"Damn," I muttered, stretching out my limbs slowly. "I thought I would have at least one more day." I flopped back onto the bed, wondering how long I could get away with just lying here. Turns out, the answer was not long at all.

"Celeste!" Rachel screamed, rushing into the room. "Slade is attacking the tower!" I groaned and rolled over to face her.

"I guessed," I snapped at her while swinging myself out of the bed. "Come on, show me where this bastard is." I rolled my shoulders as my suit crawled up my body, the helmet snapping shut with a small click. I waited for Lilith to come to life, but there was only silence. Great, just fucking great.

I walked behind the black-haired girl as she rushed through the halls and down several flights of stairs. She said we were heading for the ground floor, so I just jumped down the center of it and wandered off to where the sound was coming from.

As I rounded a corner, I had to quickly duck to avoid a flying body. I laughed loudly as the blond man hit the floor and rolled several feet across it. Serves that asshole right. His head jerked up at my distorted voice as I spun around to face the action.

All the adults from before, except the man who had just been thrown, were clustered around another man. The guy in the center was wearing what looked like full body armor and was holding back the 'Titans' with his sword. I just rolled my eyes. One guy with one sword. Easy peasy.

"Hey!" I yelled, getting everyone's attention. "How about you fight someone your own size!" The Titans glanced between the two of us before backing off to let me handle it. Smart.

"I have no quarrel with you, only them." He began, backing off as well. "Leave now and you won't be hurt." I rolled my eyes under the helmet.

"Yeah, well these people happen to be the people housing and feeding me, so I kinda need to do this. Now, if you don't mind coming over here so I can kick your ass, get some breakfast, and a gallon of coffee. Ya feel me?"

"I warned you!" He growled before surging toward me. I didn't even flinch when he plunged the sword into my gut, only twisting just right to get him to let go of it.

"That's just rude," I laughed, pulling the sword out of me and settling into a fighting stance. "How about we try again?"

This time, I moved first. I darted forward, dodging a punch and landing a sharp jab to his ribs. I then spun around, slashing at his arm. The sword connected with his wrist and cut off his left hand.

"Whoops!" I giggled, watching him fall to his knees in pain. I kicked his back, sending him sprawling onto the floor. "Not so big and bad now, huh?" I let him scramble to his feet, left arm close to his chest. I let the sword drop to the floor before walking close to him. "You don't give up, do you?"

He spun, lashing his right leg at me, but I was prepared for it. Instead of dodging it like he wanted so he could punch me, I just landed a hard punch to his knee. It gave way under my knuckles with a loud crunch, bending backwards at an Awkard angle.

"You bitch!" He yelped, falling to the floor again.

"That's me!" I snarled, letting my helmet fall away to reveal my face. I took a step forward to get in his face. "A bitch." As a last-ditch effort, he tried to dart to the side to attack Kory, but I grabbed on to his molecules and stood him straight up.
