Trigger warnings-Self deprecation

Mr. Stark replaced the titanium panel in the elevator the next day. Peter and Harley stayed in the lab while Peter made sure someone was with me no matter what. We didn't tell Mr. Stark yet. I didn't want to get him involved, and I was tired. I just wanted to rest and not stress about any work I might have to do.

It was lunchtime when Peter and Harley finally came to talk to me again. Wanda was quietly preparing grilled cheese sandwiches for anyone who'd requested one.

It was interesting watching her work. Her red magic did everything as she waved her hands around, conducting the utensils to perform perfectly to their job.

Peter and Harley came up at 12:39 PM. Harley was covered in grease stains, whereas Peter had a dirty apron.

Peter stayed with me the rest of the day. He took me down to the training rooms we used to sometimes go to and showed me all the equipment. He even showed me how to wrap my hands and punch correctly, so I could take out anger and stress on something inanimate.

He slept in a hammock outside my door, ready and alert in case anything happened. Nothing did.

When I woke up, he was gone. He left a note saying "Sorry Max, I had to go to school and Harleys actually interning today. I made sure someone will always be with you today."

Sam Wilson was waiting with the note spiderwebbed to his shirt. We talked for a little bit, then he worked on his own project in the commons area while I read a book online.

Steve and Bucky came in at lunchtime for food and staying with me.

Doctor Banner was working on a hologram table in the kitchen while I continued to read until dinner.

Peter had texted me.

Peter: Hey Max! I hope today went well. I don't have anyone set up for sleeping assignments, but F.R.I.D.A.Y. will be monitoring you. I missed a lot of schoolwork, so I don't know when I'll see you again, but Harley's always somewhere in the tower.

Me: ok

Peter: If you need anyone, go to F.R.I.D.A.Y. and she can help you. If you want to go to a training room, don't forget your lanyard. And also, goodnight!

Me: you too

I didn't sleep great. I didn't have any nightmares or dreams at all. I just couldn't sleep, feeling a growing pit in my stomach about Peter. I felt sick just thinking about the burden I was on him. I was guilty he had missed so much school.

Authors note-- Yeah this chapters really short, I know. Sorry. I'm tired and I can't concentrate. I just wanted to post this before I fall asleep on my computer.
