Hey guys! Quick note, but like I mentioned in previous chapters, Kaeden sometimes rants in French (because of his father's side of the family being French) when he's stressed, and he does that in this chapter. So I'll put the translations for what he says in the A/N at the end! I hope you like the chapter :).

"I don't relate to you, no
'Cause I'd never treat me this shitty
You make me hate this city
And I don't talk shit about you on the internet
Never told anyone anything bad
'Cause that shit's embarrassing, you were my everything
And all that you did was make me fucking sad
So don't waste the time I don't have
Don't try to make me feel bad
I could talk about every time that you showed up on time
But I'd have an empty line, 'cause you never did
Never paid any mind to my mother or friends, so I
Shut 'em all out for you 'cause I was a kid"

Elijah

"This better not backfire," Kaeden muttered, his leg bouncing.

"It won't," Elijah rolled his eyes. "Well, as long as you're sure he doesn't have any copies of that picture. Because if he does, and if it looks like that's your room, then we're screwed."

Kaeden let out a long breath, leaning his head against the passenger's seat as they drives to his place. "It clearly shows it's my room, he made sure of that," he muttered. "But he doesn't have copies. If he did, he would've made sure to remind me over and over again."

"Perfect," Elijah grinned. "We're here."

Kaeden looked around, as if only now realizing they were outside his house.

"I have a bad feeling about this, Lijah," Kaeden said, letting out a deep breath and slumping back into the seat.

"Hey," Elijah said. "Nothing that's gonna happen could possibly be worse than what he's already doing. We need to try even if it won't work."

"I know... I know, but it's just, je suis terrifié à l'idée que s'il le découvre, ce ne sera pas seulement moi qu'il blessera cette fois."

Elijah sighed. "Kade, not all of us can stress-speak French, mate."

Kaeden took a deep breath, pressing his lips together. "Nothing, let's just do this."

Walking upto the door, Elijah could see Kaeden's nervousness in the tense set of his shoulders, and he hoped it went well. If it didn't, they were screwed.

As Kaeden unlocked the door and headed in, Elijah followed, looking around.

Raine always insisted on leaving atleast one light in the living room on, claiming it felt too sad and abandoned without it, but now, with all the lights dimmed, it felt surreal.

The sound of footsteps heading toward them made Kaeden stiffen, and Elijah had to stop himself from putting a hand on his shoulder.

"Where have you be-" his father's words were cut short as his eyes landed on Elijah's.

He watched as the man's face went from annoyed to a fake, forced smile. "It's good to see you, Elijah. Kaeden didn't tell me you were coming over." The last bit was directed at Kaeden.

"Sorry," Kaeden muttered, not meeting the older man's eyes. "It was pretty last minute."

His father let out a small grunt.
