"She needs to sleep," I say tensley through gritted teeth
She ignores me and continues rocking her in her sleep
"She looks a little pale, when was the last time you took her out?" she questions stroking her cheek
"She's half white," I retort back
Finally after a strenuous half hour Stephanie puts her down before kissing her on the forehead
"She has your eyes"
Again I ignore her
Clasping her hands in front of her I internally roll my eyes knowing she's going to give me another speech
"You need help Kay. This isn't healthy. Even your boss is worried-,"
"You've been talking to my boss?" I say incredulous
"You should join some baby swimming groups or-"
"Maybe you should get the fuck out of my house and leave me and my daughter alone. I'm fine Steph, perfectly fine" I try and repeat calmly but I'm walking on thin ice
"Have you thought about it?" Stephanie's voice drops to a whisper
"You don't have to go full, you can give me half and you can still see her-,"
"Stephanie please just leave! I'll talk to you about this later, not now," I yell
She finally gets the message and leaves
