Parents have a funny inexplicable almost accidental way of finding out information in regards to their children
So it was no surprise when I over hear Anna and Lola discussing Lola's ex's apparent critical condition
That's when I decide to get into my car and visit him
Visit this Daniel that's caused my daughter such heart ache and her near life exit
Flashing my charming smile accompanied by some flirting I find out where his bed is
There are various other people in the wing and his bed is at the end
Gently I shake him and he startles awake apparently recognising me
"Did Lola send you here?" He asks fear brimming in his hoarse voice
I shake my head and ask him what happened
His skin is a sickly yellow colour and his eyes are dull and slightly blood shot
"Doctors say it's poison; can't remember which one they said though; too complicated," he explains through bouts of hoarse painful coughs
"Did Lola send you too?" He asks again the anxiety and fear reignited in his eyes
I shake my head
"Sent who? Who has Lola sent?" I ask my voice raising an octave
"The men... They just came out of nowhere and they stuck the needle into me... And then said that I shouldn't break another girls heart...," he explains frantically keeping his voice low
"I'm not supposed to tell anyone, I haven't even told the police because they'll come after me! I know it's Lola; she's had it in for me since...since the whole Zara situation," he admits
Anger flairs up in my stomach extinguishing the sympathy when I think about Lola's crumbled frail frame a year ago
As I'm driving home I realise that Lola hasn't bought anything from her 18th birthday money
"Oh Lola what have you done?" I sigh helplessly
