"No! Absolutely no way! Arthur! Jayden! Do you know how dangerous it is to become an Adventurer? You've just gotten back after we all thought you were dead and now you're saying you want to go get yourself killed out there? No way! Absolutely not."

Mother was on the verge of tears while she practically screamed this. She'd never been good at controlling her emotions. Eleanor was besides her, clutching onto her leg.

Director Goodsky had left the manor after my announcement. I could tell she still wanted to ask me a lot of questions but we excused ourselves to have a family talk. We were currently inside our parents' room with Mother standing up in front of us, forbidding us to even think about doing anything remotely dangerous.

Father was a bit more rational. I could tell he didn't like the idea as well, but he couldn't really see any reason for us not to be an adventurer besides our ages.

I wasn't even gonna try and debate Mother. She was saying all of this because she was worried and we could never blame her for that. It was something we'd expected and we wanted to slowly ease her into the idea little by little, but the meeting with Director Goodsky threw the timing off of everything.

After being silent the whole time, Father finally spoke up. "Honey, let's hear Arthur and Jayden out at least. I'm not saying I agree to either of them becoming Adventurer's but don't you think we should at least listen to what they have to say?"

"How can you still say that after what happened that day!" Mother yelled, breaking down into a fit of sobs.

After what felt like an hour had passed, I nudged Arthur.

"Mom, we were never planning to leave tomorrow. Both of us were looking forward to spending a few months together with you guys."

I came up behind him, just as I saw Mother's face soften.

"Arthur's right. We wanted to go Adventuring but we were never planning to leave right away. I know we said we wanted to go Adventuring in the Beast Glades, but we both know how dangerous it is," I began as I sat in front of Mother and Father.

"Then all the more why I wouldn't allow you! Why would you think of going to the Beast Glades even when you know the danger it poses?" Mother interrupted.

"Because we were never planning to go alone, either," I said, grabbing her soft hand.

"What?" She gave us a confused look.

"We knew you wouldn't let us go Adventuring, so we thought, If we can't go alone, we could go with someone else too."

"A bodyguard? Or supervisor?" Father asked.

"We didn't know when they were coming, but we wanted to see some old faces," I smiled, reminiscing.

Father's face lit up in realization. "The Twin Horns!"

"Right. We wanted at least one of the Twin Horns to go Adventuring with us, since we knew you guys wouldn't let us go alone."

"Hmm... You know, that's not a bad idea, then."

"B-but... I still won't be able to see you for three years!" Mother began to protest again.

I shook my head. "Mom, we're not going to go on long trips or go on dangerous missions to faraway places. We'll try to come back every few months, maybe even more frequently than that, depending on what we do. And I won't even be gone for as long as Arthur. I'll be back in two years to attend Xyrus."

"Bruhder's, are you leaving?" My sister had an expression as if she had just been told that Santa didn't exist.

'AYO, YOU BETTER FIX THAT! SHE LOOKS SO HEARTBROKEN!!'
