Cynthia Goodsky

What a remarkable bunch they are.

In the time I'd come to know the Leywin boy, he has shown me unfathomable results.

Even a few minutes prior to his arrival at my office, I could feel his dominating presence from outside the gates.

Just a glance at him was enough to tell me how hard he'd trained... in the time that he was away, this boy had already closed the gap between us.

And to think his companion was even stronger. I couldn't even sense his core stage, let alone his presence!

I looked at my still trembling hand.

"To think I would see someone like him..."

Interrupted from my thoughts, the building shook and I could feel an immense surge of mana.

Ignoring the feeling of power tugging at my heart, telling all of my instincts to run away, I willed mana and pushed my body forward with wind.

Another tremor shook the building and I could feel a dominating presence fill the halls before another clashed with it.

The feeling of being protected. That was the best and only way to describe this sensation.

To think that a High Silver core mage like myself would feel protected among all the possible words, there had to be someone of greater strength present.

It's completely unbelievable... But there's no denying this power. Jayden is far stronger than I anticipated, it seems.

Filled with endless thought, I only realized how close I'd been after seeing the familiar head of auburn locks in front of the Mana Manipulation classroom doors.

""Director Goodsky!""

Theodore Maxwell and Claire Bladeheart had been with Jayden and bowed respectfully upon seeing me.

"Oh, hey there." The boy turned to me with a pair of intensely focused azure eyes.

I shivered at the thought of those eyes being turned against me as a foe. It was a truly fortunate decision to ally with the Leywin brothers.

"It seems quite some trouble has arisen, no?" I tried to feel anything but mana behind the double doors of the Mana Manipulation classroom.

"No kidding. It almost impresses me how you managed to bring in a guy capable of aggravating someone like him. I'll pay for the damages. Both to him and the building."

Confused, I let him lead the way inside. With a mana-enhanced kick, the doors swung open, and a sight unlike anything I'd seen in all my years presented itself.

Jayden Leywin

After I kicked the doors open and I could properly see inside, I knew I wasn't the only one aware of what was happening.

The guy with a cloak and band around his head kneeling on the ground was probably that Geist guy Cynthia told us about.

But that was hardly what drew my attention. No, what drew my attention was the domineering aura of green that wreathed Ryu's body.

His eyes were filled with irritation and glowed like sparks of red lightning.

"You are... annoying."

I pushed mana from my body and sharpened my intent, directing it momentarily at the two of them.

As I was expecting, it was cut off and neutralized. Ryu turned an eye to me and his expression softened.

"Do you mind, I don't know, maybe taking this elsewhere? I don't care about the bug, just don't squash it on school grounds."
