This one trip in particular would soon become her greatest adventure ever. More than any road trip, vacation, walk in the park she's ever been on. Not even she expected it. Nothing could ever top this moment.
There she was, exploring in a forest not-too-far from the Dandelion Driver. She brings her bag, pencils, and her journal in hand to venture further into what she considers 'a greenery wonderland'. So many tall trees allowing only bits of sunlight to pass through. There was nothing that piqued her interest yet. Common wildflowers, buds sprouting in the dirt and grass, she already recorded it.
She flipped through some pages in her journal to try and find inspiration. She knew there were all kinds of plants in the world. The only problem was that she doesn't have that much money in order to do so. Even though she has a passport, the transportation costs and challenges of bringing the Dandelion Driver wherever she went would be too much of a hassle. Slightly defeated, she sighed and continued her walk.
The perks of having a journal also means it can be a personal diary, but Clover does not want anyone calling it that. She's just too embarrassed to admit it. She sits down against a tree and leans her bag against her side. Before she starts writing, she takes another look at her surroundings.
Squirrels scurrying on the ground and jump from tree branch to tree branch, owls perched in the treetops observing just like Clover is. She thinks it even looked at her at some point. Not to forget a hummingbird briefly hovering in front of her face before fluttering off to drink nectar from a flower. In addition to plants, Clover loves animals. Large animals like bears, badgers, lions, whales, the list goes on, made her feel nervous, though.
Even though a badger does not compare to a bear's height, badgers have a ferocious attitude and attacking style. You don't wanna mess with them. Nature equally fascinated and worried her. Well, the fascination outweighed the uneasiness most of the time, but still. She left the animals to the animals.
She begins a new page. Mainly formatting a way on how to draw trees and words in a neat way. She gets so caught up in her writing and sketching that she almost didn't hear a twig snapping. She grabs her bag and stands up, looking around. She slings the bag over her shoulder and inserts her bookmark on the page for later.
She hears rustling in the bushes and trees. She definitely thought her eyes were playing tricks on her when she saw a blue blur on the ground and a green one swinging on branches.
The green from the blur was a different shade from the green leaves and the blue blur was certainly a different color from the bits of visible sky.
She was hesitant to figure out what that is, wanting to stay in place and not mess with nature. She banters back and forth in her mind. What if it was a dangerous animal? It seems like a stretch. Perhaps a new plant species? One as tall and agile as humans. The concept of human-sized plants may seem very odd to some, but to Clover, it's like having an actual 'plant-based best friend' as she likes to call it.
Her curiosity got the best of her. She had to find out for herself. She shoves her journal in her backpack, hoping no pages get torn or bent when she takes it out again and scurries to the directions the blurs went in.
It didn't take long for her to lose sight of the two. She places her hands on her knees to catch her breath. She remembers breathing techniques her younger brother taught her whenever he practices that helps him maneuver better on the basketball court.
She takes his advice and slowly starts to feel better. Her senses feel sharpened. She hears leaves rustling and footprints again. The blurs passed by her on each side. She had to make a split decision. With her brother still in mind, she chased after the blue one.
Luckily, this was the one running on the ground, so traveling was much easier for her. The blue blur stopped. Clover hid behind a bush. The blue entity was nowhere in sight.
"You looking for something?" A voice said behind her.
She screams and loses her balance, falling to the ground on her stomach.
"Did you find something, bro?" Another voice calls out.
"Not something, but someone," the blue one points to Clover regaining her balance.
She gets a closer look at the two. Turns out the two blurs aren't giant plants, but rather human-looking animals? No. Animal-looking humans? They had odd, but intricate costumes according to a specific color.
"Aviva, we're pausing the game. We just found something cooler," a girl wearing a yellow jacket appeared from some device on the green one's wrist.
"Aww, man. But I wanna keep going," the blue one protests.
"I think we should give our new visitor a proper greeting," Aviva says.
'What's going on?!' Clover confusingly wonders.
