Chris and Martin help Clover climb a tree. They all sit on separate branches. Clover lies back and opens her journal back up.
"Sharing my true feelings, huh...?" She talks under her breath.
What even are her true feelings right now?
Martin slowly climbs down and sits in front of her. "Chris wanted to find more animals around here and have Aviva make more Creature Power Discs, so now it's just you and me."
"...I think this was a mistake," Clover groans.
"You...want me to go with him instead?"
"It's not that...I—gosh...I can't tell you this. You're the very last person I wanted to tell," she closes her journal once again and covers her face with her hands, impatiently tapping her foot.
"Even more than Iris?" Clover glares at him through her fingers. "Sorry."
"No, no, you have a point," she drops her hands and sighs. She opens her back journal back up to the page that's been plaguing her and explains its importance to Martin.
"Whenever it's somebody else or you and Chris together, I have no issue talking about it, but when it's just Chris...I can't find the right words right away. Is there something wrong with me? What am I missing? What am I not fully understanding here?"
Martin starts connecting the dots. From Chris frantically planning Clover's birthday party to simply observing their interactions together, something definitely shifted in their dynamic over time.
He wants to ask her a very important question, but now certainly didn't feel like the right time. So instead, he quietly responds.
"I think you should talk to Chris instead."
"But—!"
"So you two can work on the page together."
"To—gether?" Clover never collaborated with someone on one of her journal entries before. Her pondering expression slowly turns into a beaming smile. "Martin! You're a genius! Call Chris right now!"
"I think it'd be better if you called him, hm?" He grins similarly to how Aviva did earlier.
She takes out her Creature Pod and calls Chris, but he doesn't pick up.
"Maybe he's busy right now. Probably focused on finding a squirrel," she jokes, although it's very likely.
Martin laughs. "Let me try," he calls Chris on his Creature Pod. No response. "Huh. That's weird," he then dials Aviva and Koki. "Koki, Aviva, do you know Chris' coordinates?"
"He went off to explore, but he's not answering," Clover adds, getting closer to Martin to be in frame.
"Hmm. Looks like he's not so far from you two," Koki checks. "Sending over the coordinates now."
"Thanks," Clover and Martin say at the same time, smiling.
"Did you figure out what to write yet?" Aviva asks.
"I actually did thanks to Martin. I'm going to work on it with Chris, so I really need to see him right now..." her tone sounds like she's longing for him.
Aviva and Koki pick up on the inflection, but don't say anything. "Good luck on finding him. Over and out," Aviva hangs up.
"Let's go!" Martin swiftly maneuvers around the branches, landing back on the ground.
"Can you help me get down?" Clover clutches her journal in her arms.
Martin reaches his arms upwards. "I'll catch you!"
