Miguel not having seen or talked to Cherish all weekend was making him get worried. He'd gotten so used to talking or seeing her at least once a day whether that was in person or through their phones. Miguel wanted to tell Cherish about his good news, how the date went well and he and Sam were now a thing, and also how his sensei had gotten Cobra Kai into the All Valley tournament.
Knowing she sits outside at lunch, Miguel walks out into the open area hoping to find her. Instead of spotting the auburn curls he only spots the two girls who were always his friend. Walking up to their table Miguel quickly catches their attention
"Hey Miguel," Victoria greets the boy as they've been around each other and would call each other friends but were more mutual friends because of Cherish
"Hey," Miguel greets them turning to sit on the circular bench surrounding the table "uh have you seen Cherish?"
"She didn't come to school..." Amelia trails off confused as to why he was asking as the reason she wasn't at school was big
"Why? Is she alright?" Miguel asks worried and that only grows when the girls share a look
"She didn't tell you?" Victoria questions because while it was something private, she thought Cherish would have at least informed him with half the truth of not even being in the state
"No. I-is it bad? Did something happen?" Miguel was worried that something happened to the girl
"Her family flew out to New Orleans last night," Victoria informs him as she treads lightly
Amelia wanting her friend to have extra moral support shares the reason why "Today's her aunt's funeral"
"What? W-why didn't she tell me? I saw her last night before my date," Miguel shares as the kiss they shared comes back to the center of his mind
Not knowing Cherish had visited the boy the two girls take in that information with hesitation not wanting to think much off it. Yet her not telling him wasn't too surprising making Amelia say, "That's probably why, you had a date, and she didn't want to feel like a burden"
