The last time Cherish had a nightmare the next day she got the news that her aunt had died. So in waking up from a nightmare with no recollection of what she had dreamt to make her wake up crying Cherish laid in bed waiting for her alarm to go off. It was the first day of the new school year and she could not miss that.

Which is why her parents couldn't know that she had a nightmare, they would want her to stay home and get some proper sleep. The girl gets out of bed at the sound of her alarm and having a new morning routine that involved make up and perfect eyeliner wing meant building her confidence to make it seem like she was okay.

After walking out of her room for breakfast Cherish was still debating on what she was going to wear on her first day. Really she was waiting for Amelia to text her if wearing heeled boots was worth it

Matthew and Spencer eating cookies with milk on the dining table made the gift box hard to miss. Cherish gives them a weird look but doesn't ask any questions, that is until her mom hands her a smoothie

"Good morning my love," Odette smiles loving her kids first day of school because she still had yet to start teaching and with Cherish being the only one who she actually saw on their first day of school meant the mom was always a little emotional that particular morning

"Morning Ma," Cherish replies back before walking over to the dining table and finally asks, "What's with the box?"

"Mom wouldn't tell," Matthew shrugs as they'd been asking their mother questions and when they tried to get near the box they were scolded

"We think it's a birthday gift," Spencer answers with a mouthful of cookies

"It's a late birthday gift," Odette walks over to her kids nervous to having give her youngest the present

"For me?" Cherish asks picking up a cookie and setting it on a napkin

Cherish hesitantly opens the box that Odette had placed in front of her and uncovers a dark brown leather jacket was folded inside gift box. It smelled like real leather but not stiff meaning it had been repurposed, "Did Uncle Jackson make this?"
