Turned out that getting her mind off Miguel and her classmates trying to start drama by going to the theater kid's game worked. It got her mind off everything and made her second day back at school work out better than her first, what made it even better was getting the call from Rosa telling her Miguel had woken up.
Waking up from a coma Miguel had audio memories of all the people who had visited him and while for him no time having passed he was being caught on what was going on since the fight. Carmen not having left Miguel's side since he entered the hospital she embraced her waken son and wouldn't leave his side.
The doctor put the boy that miraculously survived a two-story fall as a priority. The doctor takes the boy's hand to test his mobility, "You're progressing nicely. How does this feel?"
"Yeah" Miguel shrugs as Carmen stands with a Tupperware and fork ready to feed him homemade food
"Yeah? What about this?" The doctor moves to feel his fingers
"Normal"
"Great," The doctor sincerely replies while moving towards the end of the bed to do the mobility test on his patient's legs
"Yaya's so excited." Carmen smiles at her son as she feeds him a spoon full of rice with Mole sauce "She's at home cooking up a storm. Tupperware's full of dulce de leche"
"That's great, Mom" Miguel smiles eyes moving to the doctor that was pressing on his leg and the only reason he knew that's what the doctor was doing was because he saw it
"How about this?" The doctor asks
"No"
Taking out a pen the doctor gently presses it on Miguel's foot, "How about this?"
"No"
"That's... that's okay," The doctor calmly reassures the teen boy while covering his legs with the blanket
"You said the scans were okay, right?" Carmen asks knowing the right questions to ask as she's seen almost everything
