Forbidden Love

Act 1: Scene 8

Jade was talking to Evie about the game. "Are you excited?" Evie asked. "Hard for me to get excited about things like this" Jade said.

"Well our best friends are playing" Evie said. "Okay a little excited" Jade said. "I bet you'll be cheering the loudest for Jay" Evie said.

"The name's Jay. You all going to the tourney game tonight?" Jay asked the flood of girls. The girls nodded. "Keep a lookout for number eight, all right? Scoring the winning goal" Jay flirted.

Jade sighed. "You know E he doesn't seem interested." Jade said. "What no don't say that" Evie said. "We don't work anyways" Jade said.

"No,no, no! Don't say that" Evie encouraged. "Sorry E but I was right." Jade said. "No but-" "Hey Bennyboo!" They heard.

"Just try" Evie encouraged. Jade rolled her eyes. "I just made a batch of cookies, double chocolate chip you want one?" Mal asked.

"Oh, I, uh, I've got a big game. I don't eat before a big game. But thank you so, so much. Thank you. Next time. Next time." Ben reassured.

"No, yeah. I completely understand. 'Be careful of treats offered by kids of villains.'" Mal said. "No,no-" "No, I'm sure every kid in Auradon knows that."

"No, really" "No, I get it. You're cautious. That's smart. Oh, well, more for me, I guess." Mal said as she acted like she was going to bite the cookie.

Ben snatched it. "No see, I totally trust you" Ben said as he bit the cookie. The others started caving in. "How are they?" Mal asked.

"They're good. They're great! They're amazing! They're, uh... I mean, they're chewy and, and you know, they... is that walnuts? I love walnuts. I mean, uh, you know, the... The chocolate... The... the chocolate... The chocolate chips are... I'm sorry. Um... Uh, they're... They're warm and soft. And they're sweet... Mal, have you always had those little golden flecks in your eyes?" Ben said as he finally fell under the spell.

"Ew" Jade said. "How you feeling, bro?" Jay asked. "I feel...like singing your name! Mal~ Mmm" Ben went muffled when Mal but her hand over his mouth.

"That could've been me. Jade~ Jmm" Carlos covered her mouth causing Jade to roll her eyes.

"This is a nail-biter, folks. There's 47 seconds left on the clock. We're all tied up. The Sherwood falcons, two. The fighting knights, two. What a game between Auradon's fiercest rivals." The announcer said.

The crowd was cheering on both schools. Evie was cheering for the boys while Mal was smiling but Jade showed no emotion.

"The least you could do is smile" Evie said. Jade gave her a sarcastic smile. "A nice smile" Evie said. Jade rolled her eyes.

"Try giving him his own medicine" Mal said. "But the guys here are ugh!" Jade said. "Well, you're never going to get your point across if you just sit around" Mal told her.

"The teams get into their huddles and take up positions along the kill zone. Akiho! The dragoneers have been laying down a withering hail of fire." The announcer said.

Jade watched the game. She noticed how Carlos and Jay stood from the bench. That caused her to smile.

After a few they both got in the game. "He's bringing that hothead Jay in from the Isle of the Lost and that little guy Carlos can barely hold a shield." The announcer said.

Jade rolled her eyes. "Ugh" She said annoyed. "When they break from their huddles, this is gonna be a big moment here. And the tipoff is ready. Here we go. Long pass goes to Jay. Jay dishes off to prince Ben. Nice little block by Carlos. He does a little dancing jig in his opponent's face. And now Jay gets the ball back.Here comes Jay! Jay, hurdling maneuver at mid-field."

"Yeah Jay!" Evie cheered. Jade smiled before clapping. "Jay makes a nice pass to Prince Ben through the kill zone." Jade saw the cheerleaders going crazy.

"Big block by Chad! Prince Ben moves over wide, gives it back to Jay. He's in the clear! Shot! Oh, what a save by Philip the Falcons' goalkeeper!" Jade widened her eyes before looking back at the game.

"23 seconds left. You could cut the tension with a sword. The long ball is played into Jay. Jay, great jump, great leap. And a great move by Jay. Big block from Chad. Jay dishes off to Prince Ben. And then Carlos with a big block, goes down. Jay through the kill zone, picks up Carlos. Oh, he's being hammered by dragon fire. Still, going on. Jay, hurdling maneuver at mid-field. He's in the clear. The ball goes back to Jay."

Jade watched intently at the game now. "He passes to prince Ben. He scores! Prince Ben has won it!" The announcer said.

The crowd went crazy as the other school went quiet. The boys were cheering and Jade smiled as she watched the boys so happy.

" What an unselfish play by Jay! What a team! Incredible! And it's the new guys, Jay and Carlos, who set up the prince for the win here. What a victory! An absolutely wonderful end to one of the best games ever. Here they come, folks. The winners of the first tourn-"

"Excuse me. Excuse me. Can I have your attention, please? There's something I'd like to say." Ben said as he took the mic.

Mal and Jade glanced at each other for a quick second.

"Give me an "M"!

"M!"

"Give me an 'A'"

"A!"

"Give me an 'L'"

"L!"

"What does that spell?" "Mal!" Mal's eyes widened. Jade's jaw dropped. "Come on I can't hear you" Ben said.

"Mal!" The crowd said louder. "I love you Mal, Did I mention that?" Ben said. Jade saw Audrey run. Jade started laughing.

"He loves you! Ahahahaha" Jade said as she was laughing. "Give me a beat!" Ben said. "Uno, dos, tres, quatro!"

Jade started laughing more. "What was in that cookie?" Mal asked. "He's making a song. O-oh my god" Jade said as she wiped a tear.
