I sat there for a while next to Ashlyn, probably about an hour. I was snapped from my thoughts with a buzz from my phone, a message.

Ashlyn gave me a questioning look, as if to tell me I needed to explain who was texting so late.

I chuckled nervously, checking.

As per usual, it was Aiden.

Aiden
Hey best friend, good night :)

Ah yes the signature smile. I couldn't keep the small smile off my face as I answered.

Y/n
good night to you too, best friend :)

I set my phone down as Ashlyn silently stared at me.
"It was Aiden is all." I mumbled, knowing she was going to make a deal out of it.
"Him? Of all people?" She seemed quite annoyed, but continued. "Of all people you could have a crush on-" I cut her off abruptly. "No! No it's not like that Ashlyn." "Then what exactly is it, Y/n?" "Uh just a friendship." She let the subject drop, and with that, I took my leave.

That could have gone much worse. Probably.

I went to my room and lied down.

Sleep sounded like a good enough escape for now.

I awoke to everyone unloading off the bus at Savannah. It was strange, even more so since I remembered getting out at Savannah.

Strange.
