Everything hurts

****Sonny's POV****

I brought Nina to the precinct after she went through precautionary exams at the hospital.

Mike was interviewing her in the kids room with Nick and Amanda, she's still upset going through routine questioning she held onto Amanda the whole time
I watched through the glass, my heart was broken.

"Carisi."
I looked to my right to see Olivia standing there

Olivia looked inside through the glass Then back to me and took a deep breath and let it out

"I just got a call Mia didn't make it...she was one of 3 that didn't make it."
Olivia frowned

"That was one of Nina's best friends too."
I said letting out a deep breath wiping a few tears from my eyes

"It was two high school seniors that opened fire. They took their lives. It'll be investigated for awhile but the school will be shut down a month at least is what is being said. Elliot said that Kathleen said Noah was with Mia when she was shot, they was outside for lunch when the open fire started. There's 5 others critically injured."
Olivia said

"The way it sounds Nina was on her way there and she happen to just go to the bathroom and that's when it started. You know she hid in the bathroom with the girl she got suspended for fighting with."
I said

"Wow...they'll have something to talk about with each other."
Olivia said

"I'm not gonna tell her Mia's dead yet, I will later tonight."
I said

Nina came running out of the interview room and wrapped her arms around me crying

"Hey, it's ok it's ok."
I kept repeating
Holding her in my arms rubbing her back

"Hey Carisi, take her home. I'll talk to George."
Olivia whispered

"Thank you."
I said

"Thanks Mike and Nick."
I added

They both smiled

Amanda and I took Nina home

Nina ran straight to her room and shut the door

I put my stuff down and broke down
Amanda put her arms around me and I cried, she cried

For good or for bad or even both, none of us will ever be the same again.

****Nina's POV****

I couldn't cry anymore
I didn't have any energy
My eyes I could feel was swollen
I laid in my bed on my side just staring at the
Window and walls

I wonder if Mia is ok?
I don't know
everything Hurts

I heard my door open

And someone come up and lay behind me

"Nina it's dad when we need to talk."
He said

I turned onto my back and looked at him
Tears fell down my face

"Mia died didn't she?"
I asked

"Hunny I'm so sorry."
Sonny said choking on his own tears

I put my hand to my face

"I didn't know it could hurt or be pain like this. My mom, Joe, just a few days ago Donald, Mia. Holy shit."
I said

Sonny pulled me into his chest

I just let out a groan of pain

"It just hurts dad, I can't deal with this."
I said

"It's going to be ok Nina, it will be."
Sonny held me tighter

I cried, Sonny Cried, we cried together

****Sonny's POV****

I must have fell asleep because the next thing I knew Amanda was gently waking me up

"Hey George and Cragen are here to see you."
Amanda whispered

I looked down at Nina who must have fell asleep too.

Hanging onto me for dear life

"I'll stay here with her."
Amanda whispered

"Ok"
I whispered

I gently started to get up and Nina woke up alittle

"I'm gonna stay here with you baby."
Amanda said

She nodded her head and Amanda changed places with me

I wiped my eyes and knew I probably looked like shit but I didn't care

I walked into the living room Cragen and George was standing there

"Hey, is everything ok?"
I asked

"We came to talk regarding everything going on."
Cragen said

"Ok."
I said confused

"I know you planned to bring Nina today with what happened with Donald and then this unexpected school shooting, I had a good talk with Cragen and we need to run something by you."
George said

"I'm not getting fired am I?"
I panicked

"No Carisi, not at all. Far from that."
Cragen said

"I was going to suggest this but after today I think it's past a recommendation."
George said taking a deep breath

"I think that you should take Nina far away from here for awhile, you and her take a father daughter trip somewhere. I think that it will be beneficial to you both."
George said

I was speechless but It sounded like a good idea.

"I'm here to tell you detective you take as long as you need. I know it's only September but I don't expect to have you back until after Christmas. Spend time with your daughter, away from all the stuff here. You will be paid as normal-nothing will change just like you are still here. Make up more for the 12 years you didn't have with her."
Cragen said

Tears fell down my face

"I don't know what to say."
I said

"You don't have to say anything, just do something fun. Do something great, get away from here. It'll be healing for you both."
George said

"My mom, dad, and sister all now live in New York, they've never met Nina. Only on the phone and FaceTime."
I said

"Sounds like you have some catching up to do."
Cragen said

"We are here for you, and we are only a phone call away."
Cragen added

"Thank you so much."
I said

"You call us if you need anything, your leave is affective immediately."
Cragen said

"Thanks captain."
I said

George and Cragen left

I walked back towards Nina's room

Amanda was running her Hand through her hair, Nina was asleep.
She's perfect, she's Perfect for me and my daughter. I'm so lucky to have her and just be able love her.

Amanda looked at me and smiled

"I'll be here for you through this all, and I can manage everything here while you're gone."
Amanda whispered

I came closer to the bed and said

"Amanda I love you, you are my person."
I said tears falling down my face
