****Nina's POV****

2 weeks later

I just finished my last round of radiation and I'm so glad it's over.

We will know Monday if it was successful or not, and how we go moving forward.

It's hard to look at myself in the mirror, you cant even tell I just had a baby, and the dark circles under my eyes are darker than they have ever been.

My dad has been my rock and so supportive, My uncle Nick and everyone at the precinct, Amanda, and My love Noah. Someone has been able to bring Joey out when I have felt well enough to see him. I'm so lucky for the short time I've had with him, not knowing how long I have with him.

We had a small Christmas celebration, even though it's Joey's first Christmas it's hard with everything going on. We are doing what we can to spend as much time with one another as possible.

****Sonny's POV****

3 days later
Its Monday

Today we find out how things have been with the radiation and I'm nervous as ever.
Noah is at school, Joey is at home with Amanda, and I'm watching Nina sleep, and I'm nervous and anxious of how things will be. Roughly if things go the way they are supposed to, in two weeks we will do the brain surgery  and if not, then we have a whole other issue to deal with.

Meredith and Dr Manning was at the door

"Hey Good afternoon."
They smiled

"Hey."
I said

I walked over to Nina's bed and woke her up gently

"Hey sweet girl how are you feeling?"
Dr manning asked

"Rough."
Nina said

"I know I'm sorry."
Dr Manning frowned

"Well we have some news."
Dr manning added

"The Tumor in Nina's brain has shrunk enough where we can do surgery. So far you are pretty stable and things are in as best range we could hope. But we have to be honest and just tell you, if we do this surgery it is very very risky, like we mentioned in the beginning you could die on the operating table or if we don't operate, we can make you comfortable until
(Dr Manning took a deep breath and looked down then back up)

She frowned

"Dad."
Nina said

Nina nodded

"Nina and I went through it all again together and we still are on board with the surgery."
I said scared

"I still agree this is the best way to go. We'll plan for two weeks form today Monday January 9th."
Dr Manning said

Nina nodded her head

"We would like to keep you in the hospital just to monitor everything, we highly encourage visitors still and have people come visit and spend time. Just make yourself as comfortable as possible, all of you."
Meredith smiled

Meredith and Dr Manning left

Nina looked at me and smiled weakly

"I'm going to be ok dad".
She smiled

I grabbed Nina's left hand

"I'm scared, I really am."
I said

"Me too."
Nina said

"I'm going to call Olivia and update her."
I said

"Ok."
Nina smiled

I went into the hallway and got my phone out to call Olivia

"Benson."
she answered

"Hey it's Carisi, we have an update."
I said

"Oh what is it? What did the doctor say?"
Olivia asked

"Nina is having brain surgery two weeks from today Monday January 9th. Meredith and doctor manning said to have visitors and keep going as normal as possible, she'll be here until the surgery."
I said

"Wow, that's a lot to take in."
Olivia said

"Yeah, we are only guaranteed to have two weeks at least with her at this point."
I said

"We'll be by to visit this evening if that's ok with you?"
Olivia said

"Of course."
I said

*****Nina's POV****

Later that day

I was laying in my bed with Noah we was talking

"Noah it's ok if you find another girlfriend."
I said

"Babe, you're going to be ok."
Noah said sniffling

"Noah I don't think I'm going to make it, I know I'm dying."
I said

Noah pulled me into his chest and held me, he cried and I cried

Sonny walked in

"Hey Nina."
He said

"Yeah."
I said sitting up

Noah and I both wiped our tears

Olivia, Fin, Mike, and Nick came in

"Hey everyone."
I smiled

"Sup little homie."
Fin said

I laughed

"I love it when you say that."
I smiled

"Nina you are the best little homie, and you have brought so much joy to all of us."
Fin said

"I'll never forget the day we met you at school Nina, I knew we had a case when we seen you and it's been a wild ride. But I'm glad we happened to be at that school that day."
Olivia said

"Me too."
I said

"You're not here to just say all these nice things are you?"
I asked

"Not exactly."
Mike smiled

Sonny came over to my bed

"I have something to ask you."
He said

"What is it dad?"
I asked

Sonny handed me a piece of paper

Sonny got on his knee and handed me a rose

"Will you be my date to the father daughter dance?"
Sonny asked

I sat there about to cry in fact I started tearing up

I looked at Noah

"Did you know about this?!"
I said

"Maybe."
He smiled

I looked at my dad

"Yes."
I smiled

Sonny picked me up off the bed and squeezed me tight while everyone in the room clapped and cheered

Sonny put my back down

"Where will this be at?"
I asked

"The beach."
Nick smiled

"Oh my favorite."
I said

"It's going to be so much fun."
