The next morning didn't yield many new results in terms of investigation. It was already starting to feel repetitive to be searching. Only two days onto this new island and they already had a routine. But this was one routine that didn't feel right at all.
Aki was especially trying to not cave under the rising pressure. There had to be something to find on this massive island, she didn't want to give up so quickly when there was so much potential.
And even if there wasn't, there had to be a rescue team coming. Ren had to be searching for her...right? It had almost been two weeks by this point. He had always said he'd never abandon her. He promised her that...so where was he?
She spent most of the day wondering about that in her room and texting Nikei on her handbook for the entirety of it. He had told her he wanted to interview Teruya one on one, so she let him do his thing. Still, he responded to her pretty consistently, considering he was technically on the job.
