The amount of fear that shot throughout my body once that sentence left my mates mouth, it almost made me pass out on the spot. But I kept myself together, but my fear was still obvious.
"Are you alright?" Remmy asked.
"Yet. But I'm obviously not happy to hear that but to be honest I knew he was going to come back eventually. "I said calmly. Remington then pulls me in his arms.
"It's alright my dear. I will not let him get anywhere near you. I promise you." I shook my head.
"Let's be real here, okay? You can't promise me that." Remington stepped back and looked at me like I just stabbed him with a stake.
"What's that supposed to mean?" He asked clearly offended.
"Don't be like that Remington. This is real life, this is fanfiction!!! He is going to get to me somehow and you know it." I shouted.
"So, you really have no faith in your own soulmate? "A single blood tear left his eye and he walked away leaving me in the hall all alone. Well Emerson was at a distance; he is my guard after all. Sebastian is with his wife at the moment.
"That was something wasn't it? "He joked and handed me his black handkerchief; I didn't even realize that I was crying.
"I'm sorry that you had to see that Emerson."I apologized and He pulls me into a hug and the worst part was that Remington was watching from behind the wall , anger and jealousy consuming him.

It's later in the evening and at this point Remington is ignoring the hell out of me. All day he acted like i wasn't relevant to him at all and it hurt me. It ate at me all day long, as i help the ladies and servants set up for the Masquerade ball tonight.
Juliet is now helping me into my dress.
"Remington is going to love seeing you in this."I scoffed at her comment.
"Remington and i aren't really speaking right now." Juliet looks at me surprised.
"Oh..I am sorry. What happened?" She asked and i told her absolutely everything.
"Remington keeps his word my love. Reese will not get anywhere close to you." Juliet promises, finishes tightening my corset of my dress and leads me to the vanity to do my hair and makeup. I hired Juliet as my personal stylis and she gladly accepted.
"Remington is the one who designed this dress for you ya know?"She reveals and i was shocked.
"When?"
"This morning."Then there is a knock at the door and i immediately knew who it was. Juliet is luckily finished at this point, as she hands me my mask, she hugs me tightly.
"Good luck."
