"Sтıʟʟ, I σшε чσυ ενεячтнıпɢ."
The lights in the hospital were so bright that it made Willow's headache worse than it already was. Since the moment she walked in, people had surrounded her. Nurses and doctors swarmed her, shouting medical terms that she couldn't understand pulling her away from Jasper. They immediately moved her into a room, on a hospital bed in a hospital gown over top of a fresh pair of scrubs the nurse gave her. While the nurses hooked machines up to her Willow watched as a policeman came in and bagged up her clothes.
"Alight Willow, follow my finger please." The older nurse who stayed moved her finger back and forth. "A lot of people have been looking for you. Do you want to talk about it?"
"No." Willow muttered and dropped her eyes to her hands in her lap.
"Okay." The nurse gave her leg a small tap. "Your vitals look good. We're going to take some blood work and set you up with an IV. You're severely dehydrated. I'm also going to order food for you. None of that cafeteria junk."
"You don't have to do that." Willow spoke without lifting her head. "My boyfriend's siblings are bringing food."
"Okay. Your X-rays should be back soon. Just sit tight."
"Where's Jasper?" Willow called before the nurse walked out the door. Her anxiety rolling off her in waves
"He's talking with the police. He should be done soon." The nurse smiled softly and Willow dropped her eyes to her hands resting in her lap.
"Can-can you stay with me?" Willow's voice cracked and she stuttered over her words. The nurse's smile grew and she moved to the chair beside the hospital bed.
"Of course." The nurse gently wrapped her hand around Willow's, giving it a small pat. "I'm not going anywhere."
"Is my uncle here yet?" Willow whispered as the nurse started to use a damp cloth to wipe some of the dirt off Willow's arms.
"Not yet but he's been contacted. He'll be here soon."
Silence surrounded them and Willow let the nurse continue to clean her arms off. Outside the room Jasper's voice was muffled as he spoke to the two police officers. Willow found herself compulsively looking through the window just to make sure he was still there.
"Willow?! Where is she?" A familiar voice bellowed through the hallway.
"Charlie?" Willow quickly rose to her feet and rushed out of the room despite the protest from the nurse. Jasper was waiting for her, ready to steady her if legs were still weak. She looked around and traveled further down the hallway until she saw him.
He looked completely disheveled. His jeans were dirty, and his flannel was baggy on him. His face was covered in a un-maintained beard. The circles under his eyes were dark enough to look like bruises. Willow's heart broke at the sight of him because she knew it was her fault that he was like this.
