JESS walked out the girl's house with a grin plastered to his features. She peeked round the door, biting down on her bottom lip as he turned back one last time to glance at her before moving to his car, getting in, and driving off. Sage shut the door. She treaded up the stairs cautiously, being careful not to fall with the amount of shock, happiness and guilt that consumed her. Although being over the moon that her daydreams had became real, the brunette felt a pining pain of guilt in her gut. She knew far well why. Jess had cheated on his girlfriend. With her. And even though she loved this boy so much, one of her closest friends was his current lover. So she lay there in her bed, staring at the ceiling with a somber expression wondering what too do. She reached over her bed to her wooden bedside table and picked up her phone. She dialled quickly and held the phone to her ear, her head filled with anticipation. The ringing stopped.
'Hello?'
'Rory?' Sage asked, chewing on her nails and sitting up.
'Sage? It's...2:30..'
'I'm so sorry.' Sage put down the phone and held it to her chest, hearing Rory say:
'For w-'

JESS awoke. Memories from the previous night reentered his head. He smiled at the thought. Finally, he knew he loved her. It was Sage. It had always been Sage. He ambled to the bathroom and wetted his hands with the cold water from the leaky tap. Luke walked into the bathroom aswell, utterly jaded.
"Oh sorry, I was just-"
"It's okay." Jess responded, continuing to wash his face.
"You got in late last night," Luke travelled to the cabinet, "Have a fun time with Rory?" Jess froze. He physically stopped and his hands dropped to his side. Rory. His anger had taken over last night aswell as his true feelings.
"Yup." Jess simply said, and left Luke alone in the bathroom. He picked up the phone on the table beside him, finding it after taking on the quest of looking for it between the rubble of books and cigarettes.
'Hey?' her voice settled every nerve in his body.
'Hey. It's me.'

SAGE smiled to herself at his voice.
'Hey.'
'Hi.'
'Um, how are you?' Sage asked.
'I'm good, what about you?'
'Yeah, I'm great, i-i'm glad you're good.'
'Yeah, it's good that you're good too.' Sage could practically sense the smirk on his face.
'So..'
'So..'
'Well, I'm coming by the diner today, I mean we can talk then and stuff y'know...' Sage told. Jess nodded at the other end.
'That's great. Yeah, that's cool.'
'So, see ya?'
'Before you go..' Sage paused, 'I just wanted to say I had a great time last night.' Sage grinned compassionately, 'You're a really great girl Sage.' Sage chuckled.
'Thanks. You're a really great guy.'
'Thanks, I'll see you later.'

SAGE strolled into the cafe. She had persuaded her mother to tag along aswell, because apparently Leanne wanted to see where her daughter went everyday, the standards of the place. Of course, Sage really knew that the reason for Leanne's accompaniment was to see the relationship between her daughter and the 'teenage dirtbag', as she phrased. They approached the diner, Leanne's hand curling around Sage's. Sage contemplated.
"You ready?" Sage didn't answer, leaving her eyes fixed on the diner door.
"Come on!" Leanne said, laughing, "It's gonna be fine. We'll go in, get your coffee and a donut, and if we see him, then, we work out the situation as it comes."
"You don't understand. You don't even know what happened between us.." Sage formed a smile as she spoke.
"Exactly." Leanne raised her eyebrows, "I wanna know the gossip, gimme!" Sage rolled her eyes in amusement.
"Sage! And.." Luke paused as the two entered.
"Luke this is my mom, Leanne, Mom, this is Luke." Luke held out his hand for Leanne to shake and she took it, gladly.
"Hi."
"Hey."
"I'm guessing you want your usual Sage?" Luke anticipated. Sage nodded. As Luke disappeared into the abyss of the back of the diner.
"So, what happened?" Leanne leaned her cheek on her palm.
"Well, um..he came round, you saw, and he was at a dinner with Rory's grandmother," Leanne acknowledged every word, "And something had happened to his eye, so Rory automatically assumed he had gotten to a fight with Dean,"
"Ex boyfriend Dean?" Leanne checked.
"Yup. So when Jess came I helped him out with his bruise, and we were just talking, and he was so angry with Rory, and...there was hardly any space between us so he just.."
"Oo, he made the first move." Leanne commented. Sage tried hard to conceal her smile which was trying to crack through her features.
"And then we.."
"Oh my god!" Leanne covered her eyes even though nothing was happening. Sage chuckled at her mom's reaction.
"So Sage," Luke returned with Sage's food, "Jess mentioned a party, he was wondering if you were going." Leanne nudged her daughter as she blushed terribly.
