Chapter 16

Third person's POV

The look on the Queen's face stops Mina from making another sound. She bites her lips, holding in her own sniffles, she knows she has to obey if she doesn't want to get a severe punishment. Mina closes her eyes and slowly brings her hands to her own clothes, removing the only layer of slave clothing that she has on, and let it falls to the floor, together with lots and lots of her tears, tears of humiliation.

Little did Mina know, the young Queen has already deeply regretted her decision after seeing how much tears are falling from those pretty eyes of the girl she loves. Chaeyoung is standing there frozen, doesn't know what to do next. It's killing her to see Mina cries her heart out, but being a Queen of a whole Kingdom, she can't just take her words right back,

Meanwhile, Mina is all shaken up, she is hesitating to take off the undergarments, the only things left to cover her nakedness, 'But she said all of it.' Mina can't just unheard the Queen's command, but she is still debating with herself, whether to just take it off and face this humiliation or being defiance and face the wrath from the Queen.

Right at that moment, a guard from outside the door loudly notifies the Queen, 'Your Majesty, here stand State Councillor, Minister of war, Chief of royal guards, Vice Minister of war and Vice Chief of royal guards. They are here to pay respects for the former His and Her Majesty.'

Both Chaeyoung and Mina instantly look at each other's eyes after hearing that. It took Mina everything to not quickly grab her clothes and put it back on, because that action would be against the Queen's order. But panic raises within her, does the Queen hate her that much? Is there a chance that the Queen would let them all in while she is in this state? That's the questions which Mina is furiously searching for answers in Chaeyoung's eyes right now,

On the other hand, Chaeyoung is still staring deeply into Mina's teary eyes. She can clearly read the desperate pleading from the girl, and it made her heart hurts, because deep down inside, she wants to protect Mina at all cost, she wants to tell Mina that her command was a big mistake, that Mina doesn't have to worry, and there is no way she would let anyone in to see Mina like this, 'Tell them that I'm tired, and that they can come back tomorrow.' The Queen tells the guards,

'Yes, Your Majesty.' And with that, everyone outside the door left.

Mina finally can let out the breath that she has been nervously holding in since earlier. She feels so relieved, but when she diverts her eyes back to Chaeyoung, she then remembered that the Queen hasn't taken back her command from earlier. She sadly looks down at the ground and slowly brings her hands up, about to undo her undergarments,

But Chaeyoung quickly grabs her hands, stopping her from doing so, 'Don't! Don't do it!' The Queen decided to take back her words, even with the risk of exposing her inner feelings, as long as Mina isn't suffering anymore. She then quickly picks the clothes on the floor up, and puts it back on for Mina,

Mina is in great suprise that she couldn't move. She really did expect the worst because of the amount of pain and anger were present inside of the Queen today. But for what reason the Queen suddenly changed her mind? She can't help but wondering. And the fact that Chaeyoung herself gently put the clothes back on for her, as if the Queen is regretting her own action, as if it's a sign of a subtle apology, and that gesture has totally made a reversed effect on Mina, from being humiliated to being comforted.

Right then, another announcement from the guard can be heard loudly from outside the door, 'Your Majesty, here stand Noble Consort Tzuyu who is here to pay respect for the former His and Her Majesty.'

Chaeyoung looks at Mina to double check that the girl is now fully dressed, she then walks back to her throne and sits down on it, 'Let her in.' She tells the guard. More than anyone, Tzuyu is the only person who the Queen would want to see at the moment, she is Chaeyoung's source of comfort,
