Stu sat on his couch, tapping his fingers against his knee as he waited on his girlfriend, Tatum Riley. She organized a date for them this evening and said Stu didn't have to worry about anything. No gifts or food, nothing. And this scared Stu.
Usually when girls dated him they wanted him for his expenses. They wanted to go out to the fancy restaurants and wanted the most expensive gifts Stu could afford. Nobody actually loved him. Not in the way Tatum Riley did.
He was watching Psycho right now, halfway through the movie. Nervously he glanced at the clock and sighed.
"She's not here, she just fucking tricked me.. I should've—"
Knock. Knock. Knock.
Stu turned his head to the front door and basically jumped up. The door swung open and standing there was Tatum with daisy's in her hands. She handed them to Stu with a smile, kissing his cheek.
"I'm sorry babe, it was a bit hard to find a lot of those." She said with a giggle. Stu just shook his head and pulled her into a kiss, one of which she happily returned. Stu wiped away a few stray tears before taking the flowers gently out of her hands. He stepped back to get a good look at her outfit.
It was very pretty. She wore a white suit with a dark grey dress shirt under with a complimentary white tie along with white pants and black sneakers. Very lovely.
Stu felt a little underdressed in his turtle neck sweater and jeans but Tatum didn't seem to mind nor ask Stu to change. She just took his hand lightly and led him to her red car, opening the door for him on the passengers side. Stu chuckled and smiled.
"Usually the man's supposed to do this.. this is... nice." Stu trailed off, feeling warm and fuzzy inside. He was the one doing this stuff in his other relationships.
He was always the one to give his girlfriend flowers or gifts and always opened the door for her. He always picked out the plan and if she didn't like it, he'd come up with another one just for her on the spot. He was so scared of them not loving him anymore that he coding see that in actuality, they didn't. They never did. It was always about the money he had in his bank account.
Tatum chuckled also, getting in the drivers seat, leaning back for a few seconds before driving to an undiscussed location, "well, tonight's gonna be different babe! I know how much those other bitches gave you pain and I just wanted this to be about, well, you. You've almost always had my eye and we're like the same in a lot of ways. Girls want your money and guys want my body. We're just too easy to step all over Stu, you have to realize that unless you want girls to drain you of any green you have left." Tatum sighed, turning on the radio while trying to find Stu's favorite song.
Stu sat quietly, not knowing what to say. She was completely right but he didn't want to admit it out loud. It fucking sucked how much right she was. She was usually the rational thinker along with Sidney, when she wasn't getting high with Stu and drinking wine.
A few minutes of peaceful silence pass by until the both of them stop at the edge of a forest Stu has encountered many times during childhood. His face shifted to one of confusion but Tatum just smiled.
God he loved that smile.
It seemed to be like the sun, blighting his day up no matter how dark and gloomy it was.Tatum parked the car and got out, rounding her way to the back to grab something. She did her best to hide it behind her and open Stu's door.
