My Favorite Characters X Female Reader Short Stories

After the recent battle this morning,Lieutenant George and I had been tasked with going out and checking the battlefield for survivors. The task is never an easy one,but George always tries to keep me happy. We arrive at the area and are greeted by the sight of dead bodies,not just men but of horse's too.
"Okay George, you go left and I will go right" I say
"Right o" George says.

I went right as George headed left,I checked each man carefully to see if there is anyone alive. The men around me are of different ages,some are much younger than myself others are of a similar age
"Such a waste" I sigh quietly
"Er nurse Y/n,I think this one is alive" I hear George shout. I Stand up and run to George making sure to avoid the holes in the ground. I reach George and see his nelt beside a tall young man with curly blond hair.

"He's been shot in the shoulder" I say as I examined him
"Is he alive?" George asks looking at me
"Yes but just out cold, mostly likely from the fall from his horse and loss of blood" I tell him
"I'll carry him back" George says picking the man up,I check the last few bodies and realize this man is the only one alive.

"Let's hurry George, I won't let this man die as well" I say determined. It didn't take us long to get back to the hospital where we are stationed
"Get him to an empty bed" I say
"Got a live one,nurse" Captain Blackadder asks,walking over to me
"Yes just the one,though barely" I say
"Baldrick fetch the Lady her equipment" Blackadder shouts to the short scruffy man.

"I will also need hot water and fresh blankets" I tell Blackadder
"Why your not giving birth?" Blackadder asks smirking, I give him a death glare and he hurries off
"Anything I can do?" George offers
"No thanks George, you've done enough already"

Time skip

Several hour's have passed since I had operated on the injured solider. I have removed the bullet and cleaned up the wound as best as I can. I'm now sat beside his bed waiting to see if he awakens. Blackadder had sent word to General Mellchet about the solider. I stood up to readjust the man's pillows,when I see his eyes twitch. I sit back down slowly, waiting and then his eyes open. He blinked several times before his eyes stayed open fully,I watch as he looks around him before finally seeing me.

The man looks slightly confused, so I explain
"You're in a hospital, you have been shot" I tell him
"Wh...wh..." The man tries to speak but the words don't come out properly .I give him a cold drink of water and this time he says"What happened to Joey?"
"Who is Joey?" I ask
"My horse,I promised Albert I would look after him" the man says.

"We found you and no one else alive" I say
"Oh" the man says" he might have survived, if he ran off?"
"That is possible" I say"Can you tell me your name?"
"Nicholls,Captain James Nicholls" the man says
"Well Captain Nicholls,I'm nurse Y/n L/n" I say
"Thank you for saving my life Y/n" James says,it is then I notice his eyes are a beautiful blue colour
"You are welcome Captain Nicholls" I say
"Please call me James."
