Stood on a rooftop of what she could only guess was the liquor store she had just robbed, with a now half-empty bottle of vodka in one hand, Buffy had finally reached another state in her process.

Full-on rage.

Just being in this town was making her more furious by the second, because the longer she had time to think about everything the more messed up it was. The fact was, The Powers had always planned to ship her back to the Enchanted Forest once she had done their dirty work, she had been nothing but a borrowed toy to be disposed of at another date.
It didn't matter that she had built a life, that she had the Slayers, people relying on her.
The Powers were done with her and wiped their hands clean of her like she was nothing.
And she had a feeling that no matter what, this was always going to happen, hell to them it wouldn't have mattered if she had been married with a kid or if Dawn and the rest of her friends had still been alive, they still would have kicked her out of their world like dirt.

It was like everything she had done in her life meant nothing.
Everything she had built didn't matter because no matter what she did, what she had, they had always planned on stripping it away from her. They had taken everything she had ever known away from her even after everything she had done to save their world she had been nothing more than a pawn.
And now the plan was to make her yet again another pawn, only for a new world.

She felt like nothing more than a toy being traded between two children.

In a fit of rage, Buffy lets out a small furious scream before swinging her fist down at the concrete floor, again and again, not carrying in the slightest about the barely healed cuts on her knuckles reopening. She just needed to feel something other than rage or heartache, so the pain would just have to.

"Buffy stop!"

Ignoring the faint sound of a voice screaming her name, Buffy slams her fist into the concrete once more, cracking the floor as blood began to pool freely from her knuckles.
Feeling someone try to grab her arm to check on her bleeding hand, Buffy drunkenly shrugs the hand off her stumbling away, trying not to trip over her own feet.

David sighs deeply as he spots the half-empty bottle of vodka in Buffy's hands, this was what he never expected. When he had imagined them all being reunited as a family, he had never pictured this.

Scoffing as her eyes landed on her birth father Buffy couldn't help but groan in annoyance as she brings the bottle to her lips "What part of running into the woods do you people not understand? Is space not a thing in your world? You know, time to think?"

"We're just trying to help you."

Smiling sarcastically Buffy merely smirks slightly as she turns to face the hero, The Enchanted Forest was a world where the heroes always won, everyone in that damn world just didn't seem to understand that taking time to process information alone was needed.
No, everything to them had to be a group activity.
"I don't want your help. What I want is to be left alone! If you and your family can't deal with me taking space to figure out how I feel, then don't lay that on me!"

Flinching slightly at her harsh words, David couldn't help but understand where she was coming from. While their family specifically him and Mary Margaret had always been ones to talk about their feelings together, Emma and Buffy had grown up under drastically different circumstances. They processed their feelings alone, yet still, he didn't want to leave her like this, especially not when she had been drinking.
"Buffy, look I know you have been through a lot..."

"No, you don't know!" Buffy finally snaps as she turns to glare at the man who was acting as though he knew her.
Reading a fairy-tale book about her life didn't give him knowledge of her.
"You think reading Henry's book automatically gives you an understanding of my life?" She hisses out causing him to halt slightly realizing that for a woman like Buffy who had been through so much pain, reading into her personal history was like invading her privacy.
They had really gone about this whole situation the wrong way.

Spotting him halter in his speech, Buffy clenches her jaw tightly before gesturing to her blood knuckles with a harsh laugh, this family seemed to think they knew so much about her because of that damn book, but the truth was they knew nothing. Everything in that book was just surface-level crap.
"Let me ask you this..." She starts her voice growing deeper as she tries to contain her rage as she faces off with her father while trying to keep from stumbling onto her ass "Have you ever had to kill people because they already killed your friends, and they were coming for you next? Have you ever done things that made you feel afraid of yourself afterward? Have you ever been covered in so much blood that you didn't know if it was yours, or enemies, or your friends?"

When she is met with nothing but horrified silence from her father Buffy merely lets out a small breath before grabbing her bag off the floor and throwing it over her shoulder "Then you don't know."

It was safe to say, her words had struck a chord within David.

It broke his heart hearing her words, it sent guilt running through every nerve in his body because the truth was he blamed himself for what she had been through. When he placed Buffy and Emma in that wardrobe he had never considered that by doing that he would be sacrificing his own children's happiness, if they hadn't sent Buffy away...then she would never have gone through all the horrors.
He wanted more than anything in this world to fix things, but it was too late, what was done couldn't be changed, and hearing Buffy's truthful confession he knew now that he would never be able to truly help her because he would never be able to understand what she had gone through.

But he still wanted to be there for her in any way he could, so that she never had to go through that kind of pain ever again.

"Buffy, you are my daughter, we found you and you found us, that must mean something, that there is good in all the darkness..."

"It means my life is a sick joke." Buffy argues letting out a harsh laugh as she swallows another gulp of booze before tossing the bottle away from her "Everything I have done, every horrible thing..." She stutters out her voice cracking as she speaks, tears beginning to spill from her eyes once again "...It was for my family and now I don't know anything! My world is falling apart, and you don't get that. You just want to play house and what pretend the past 26 years I spent loving my family, sacrificing everything for them, grieving them didn't happen? That they were nothing more than placeholders till this curse broke?"

Not letting him answer Buffy raises her hand making it clear to him that she wasn't done and she was in no mood for interruptions "If you actually knew anything about me, you would understand that following me around? Having your town constantly searching for me is not okay! Especially not after what I learned. So let me make myself clear David, I don't want a new family, and even if I did..." Stepping closer the blonde arches her neck to glance up into her father's eyes, while he didn't know it yet, this was the last time she planned on speaking to any of them.

If anything the fact that they hadn't left her alone and were constantly pushing her to come and play happy family just confirmed everything she needed to know. If they had actually given her space and time to process maybe she would have been willing to talk but the constant pushing; wasn't okay with her.
It was like what she wanted didn't matter, all that mattered was creating this perfect family they had been picturing in their heads.

But life wasn't that simple.

She didn't belong here and she didn't want to be here anyway.

"I'm not capable of that, I had a family, one I loved and grieved for...I'm not capable of going through the family thing again. Anyway, your family is better off without me. I'm a catalyst of destruction, my life is pain, death, and apocalypse. People around me die, trust me the sooner I'm out of this world, the better for all of you."

Without letting him get another word in Buffy turns her back on him and takes off in a run right to the edge of the roof, leaping off it and flying through the air before landing on the roof of the building across from David.
Standing back up Buffy glances back over her shoulder to where David had rushed over to the edge in an attempt to stop her only to realize he wouldn't be able to go after her.

She was faster than him.

So with one small glance from his daughter, David's eyes widen in panic as he spots her leap off the roof of the other building and landing on the street below.

Quickly rushing down the stairs of the building he was on, he practically leaps downs the staircase, skipping as many steps as he could in an attempt to catch up with her.

She was going to leave, once she figured out where she was going she would be gone.
There had to be something he could do.

But alas as he rushes out of the fire exit onto the street his heart plummeted, she was gone.
