"You know, isn't this thing supposed to be all shiny and magical?" Buffy couldn't help but ask as the group pull to a stop in front of the massive beanstalk that was so tall it disappeared into the clouds.
Just the sight of it made her gulp, that was going to be a long-ass climb even for her "Not look like a ladder up to hell."

Emma snorts from beside her sister as she too stares at the impossibly high beanstalk "It's definitely freakier than I remember from the story."
Buffy nods in agreement at the elder blonde's words before her eyes widen as another part of the old fairytale pops into her brain "I swear if there isn't a golden goose up there I'm gonna be so pissed."

The fairytale characters behind the two sisters all frown in confusion before Hook clears his throat drawing both of the blonde bombshells' attention "Well, your compass awaits. Shall we?"
Buffy couldn't help but frown at the pirate's words, she was still new to the whole portal travel thing especially with how it worked in this world. She only had limited knowledge about the topic in her own world. Hell, the last time she went crashing into a portal...she died.
"Look, I'm not the biggest fan of portal travel..." She argues giving Hook a pointed glare as he merely continues to smirk at her "...but if these beans can get us all back to our separate homes, I'll make an exception. So why don't we just pick a couple? They get to go home..." She says gesturing to Emma and Mary Margaret before tapping her own chest "And little old me gets to go back to my planned vacation in Hawaii."

"There are no more beans." Hook informs the blonde as he turns to face her while fully ruining her plan of hiding on a beach for a couple of months with nothing but Margarita's and bad boy decisions "Whatever story you think you know my dear is certainly wrong."
At the little pet name being thrown her way, Buffy clenches her jaw tightly and takes a threatening step towards the pirate, tilting her neck to look up at him "Don't call me dear, or Luv or Pet. Or I will remove your other hand about you can become Hook and Spoon...understood?"
"I do love your imagery." The blue-eyed devil flirts only summoning an eye roll out of the blonde who backs away from him to go and glare at the endless beanstalk like it had personally said something to offend her.

Spotting Hook still eyeing her sister, the even protective Emma slaps his arm drawing his eyes off Buffy's backside "Talk."
Groaning in annoyance Hook finally turns to face the eldest sister "The story is, the giants grew beans but rather than use them for good, they used them to plunder all the lands. Jack was a man who thought a terrible war, defeating all but one of their evil giants. The beans were destroyed by the giants as they died. If they couldn't have their magic, then no one could. It's very bad form."

Buffy sighs as she listens to his tale, from the sounds of it the real stories were even darker than the Grimm Brothers stories she would read as a kid. This whole world was just coming more depressing by the day and ruining her childhood memories one by one "I like the one with the goose better." She sputters under her breath before turning to face the pirate "What else?" She questions drawing his attention making her quirk an eyebrow impatiently "Oh come on, what kind of end is that? There's more right?"

A small smile grazes Hook's lips as he eyes The Slayer with an almost impressed expression, she was clearly surprising him with the fact she wasn't just a dumb blonde with super-strength "You're a smart one. One giant survived. The Strongest and most terrible of them all. And we'll have to get past him to..."

"The magic compass." Snow finishes dread filling her eyes at his words. The fact that this surviving giant was apparently the strongest meant that there was a strong possibility Buffy would end up being the one to fight him.
"Indeed." Hook continues not noticing the worrying frown on Snow's face "Treasure remains, and amongst it is the compass. Now it will guide us to your land. Cora has the means to open a portal with the wardrobe ashes, but she can't find your land without the compass. Once we get it, steal the ashes from her and we're on our way."

Despite the optimistic sound of his voice, all five women were still hesitant to trust a word escaping his lips. He was after all a villain that had originally been working for Cora in an attempt to gain their trust.
Mulan glances over at Buffy who gives her a small nod, despite the fact they hadn't known each other long, Mulan had grown to trust The Slayer.
She could see the warrior inside of the blonde, Buffy was obviously someone who had been a General of sorts, she knew how to lead and when to walk away.
Turning her gaze back to Hook, the soldier tightens her grasp on her sword as she eyes him dangerously "How do we know you're not just using us, to get the compass for Cora?"

"Because you five are far safer company." Hook argues, almost sounding completely reasonably with his words "All I need is a ride back. I'll swear allegiance to whoever gets me there first."

Snorting slightly Buffy steps away from the beanstalk eyeing Hook carefully, despite the fact that his words didn't exactly fill her with a lot of confidence she had to admit...at least he was honest about it.
Clapping her hands together she pulls off her jacket and places her scythe in its holder before glaring up at the clouds where the beanstalk disappeared "So let's get with the climbety climb, climb."

However, despite her need to get this over with as quickly as possible, the sound of Hook chuckling behind her causes the blonde to pause. She couldn't help but curse under her breath, there was more information he was keeping from them as leverage, she should have realized sooner "Alright spill."
Hook smirks slightly "Ah, yes, I failed to mention that the giant enchanted the beanstalk to repel introducers."
"Convenient of you." Buffy mumbles sarcastically as she glares at the pirate while Emma does the same as she takes a step to stand beside her sister, both green-eyed blondes glaring at him hatefully "All right, so how do we get up there?"

At Emma's question Hook grins like a child on Christmas morning, knowing that at this moment he held the power over the five tough women "I've got a counterspell from Cora...if you'd be so kind." He teases gesturing to his still bound wrists causing Snow to groan in annoyance as she makes her way over to the pirate.
Using her knife she frees his wrists while he smirks up at her "Thank you, my lady."

While Snow rolls her eyes and makes her way over to her daughters, Hook pulls the robe off his body revealing the leather trousers and vest underneath. As he tosses the robe on the floor he then pulls back his sleeve revealing the leather cuff on his wrist "I've got one more of these. Cora was to accompany me. So...which one of you five lovelies shall take her place? Hmm? Go on. Fight it out. Don't be afraid to, you know, really get into it."

Buffy couldn't help but groan in annoyance as she glances at the other girls clenching her fists tightly, Hook was getting on her last nerve "Can I kill him now?"
